Auxilliary back case for VW conversion or spares

Geared back case from Limbach L2400 dual magneto engine with pair of Slick 2401 magnetos, alternator, fuel pump and vacuum pump. Removed from an unused engine that appeared to have been bench run only. Engine converted to single mag for motorglider so back case is surplus to requirements with appare...

Re: LAA COVID ADVICE - STAY SAFE, FLY LATER.

Thanks, Steve, for putting out this very sensible advice. We should all fully support and comply with this. If you can get extensions to the revalidation/recency requirements from the CAA it will be most appreciated.

Re: Keeping Current

Alan - It's not a problem for me. I just raised the issue because I'm the chief pilot of our group and at leat one other member may have a problem. They are very competent, cautious and I have no problem with their airmanship - if I do, I insist on proper checks. In my case I hold an EASA PPL, Natio...

Re: Keeping Current

Keeping flying to keep current is fine, if you can do it. In our case the airfield is closed due to waterlogging at the moment, but hopefully in a month will be flyable. However, our permit runs out in mid April. I had arranged for my inspector to do the permit inspection next week but, very sensibl...

Re: GAR Developments

Nigel, could you let us all in on the email address you've found for Abbeville Douanes? When I said the Abbeville airfield fax was not working, neither was the Douanes fax number, so an email address would be most useful, just to be safe. Regarding return GAR's and delays etc, the first time we went...

GAR Developments

The stop press info about GAR requirements is interesting and slightly puzzling. I operate from a private strip and always submit a GAR 4 hours in advance inbound from EU. I used to be a bit puzzled about aircraft apparently going into Headcorn, which is a Certificate of Agreement airfield, without ...

Re: Flight Plan Addressing

Hmmm - could be. It's a bit obscure isn't it. That section refers initially to: "The filed flight plan messages are transmitted and addressed as follows by the air traffic body operating at the departure aerodrome" So I guess flightplans files on Eurofpl may be treated as the equivalent. Here's the ...

Flight Plan Addressing

I've just found out an interesting thing about addressing flight plans in France, Benelux and Italy. I've been using Eurofpl lately and used it to file flight plans to Calais and on to Schaffen Diest for last weekend's fly-in. Normally Eurofpl adds all the correct addressees automatically. At Schaff...

Dear John

Thanks for the explanation about the lat and long on Olympics flight plans. I see the 'logic' now!

Re: Olympic Aispace Restrictions.

PS - Brian, a point about flying to Lydd - they have complicated thinks as well. During the Olympics you have to book a slot time with them just to land! (see their website) This lunacy must be catching. I've been told by my friend that most other larger airfields are insisting on the same thing, in...

Re: Olympic Aispace Restrictions.

I think my friend's flight planning difficulties were also due to lack of preparedness. He hasn't done it much by himself and has always got away with filing over the phone before. It's probably the most difficult part of flying out of England (or in the Olympic zone!) and I had to do a quite lot of...
