Re: BANK FRAUD - LAA STATEMENT and REPORT
Dear Member, In my letter I indicated that a full report would be made at the AGM. Steve (and Eryl), this appears not to be correct. As Eryl says in his letter to members: At the conclusion of the formal AGM business on Sunday there will be a short presentation, summarising the Report and Recommend...

Re: BANK FRAUD. The elephant in the room?
I do think that yesterday's email should have also included a report on what has happened since the report was presented to the Board in August. The membership should really have time to consider that information prior to the AGM, rather than await a "short" (why short? I'd hope there is much to say...

Re: Permit aircraft to the Channel Islands
Thank you, Stephen - I may already be in contact at one remove as I am also corresponding with the Jersey Aero Club.
It was JAC that confirmed the previous General Exemption was no longer in force and that individual exemptions must now be applied for.

Permit aircraft to the Channel Islands
Does anybody have a copy of the (now expired) General Exemptions for Permit/homebuilt aircraft to visit Jersey and Guernsey/Alderney that they could send me by PM or email (Or link to on here)? (These are the documents that were previously provided at the now-dead links at the foot of page 5 of Tech...

And more about the wonderful little aircraft itself in an excellent article by Clive Davidson in the December 2019 magazine.

Re: permit aircraft in Spain and Portugal
I haven't heard that it has changed in either, and it was required within the last couple of years. Here's the application form for Spain (includes email address to send it to) , if you don't already have a link. The form refers to "ULM" but reportedly works OK for LAA Permit types as well. (I've ju...

Re: funke TRT800H and SW v5.2 for ADS-B
Thanks, Mike. Unfortunately that doesn't work, because funke (in their wisdom) have elements of the transponder setup and memory contained in the connector and not in the transponder unit itself. I hadn't realised this until I recently came to connect GPS wiring from a Garmin G5 to the transponder a...

funke TRT800H and SW v5.2 for ADS-B
Hi all - a question a for owners of the TRT800H transponder with software v5. 2 who have managed or attempted to set it up for ADS-B OUT. The funke website says that v5.3 is required (and it is £300 for the upgrade), but there are several people elsewhere on various forums (Flyer, BMAA) who claim to...

Spend two years ignoring, then two months abusing your constituency and they don't vote for you.

Yes, most here are - and perhaps the silent majority too (we'll see tomorrow).
But that's no reason to give a hard time to anyone (such as Dominic) perceived as not being quite in line.

Re: ALL MEMBERS ! Please fill out those proxy forms..!!
Fighting amongst ourselves and throwing accusations around doesn't help. There's quite enough bad feeling already. People are allowed to hold different opinions - of course they are. What we should all be striving for is the good of the Association, and furthering bad feeling definitely won't achiev...

Re: ALL MEMBERS ! Please fill out those proxy forms..!!
Steve, last word from me here regarding logging P2 and CAP804. CAP 804 is now no longer being updated, which is why it says 'For Reference Only' on it. And guess what? I was using it as a reference for you. 8) However, it was authoritative when written, nothing in that area has changed in the last (...

Re: ALL MEMBERS ! Please fill out those proxy forms..!!
It's not my interpretation. The regulations are set out in CAP804. They can also be found in Part FCL. Wording in a commercially produced logbook is not definitive. Here you go, Chapter & verse from CAP804. You should read all of para.3 to give context to the sub-para within the red ellipse: http://...

Re: ALL MEMBERS ! Please fill out those proxy forms..!!
I'm not saying it isn't a direct quote. I know that it is. I'm saying that your interpretation of the quote is not correct. Yes, another pilot can log stick time if they are in a single pilot SEP. But if they do, you cannot log the same time unless you or they are an instructor. But I'm repeating pr...
