I have just read that John Haynes has passed away.
The name did not mean anything to me, but my trusty Haynes SU repair manual still sits on my bookshelf, along with various other tomes on tinkering with bits of Coventry rust, and I still rely on my type 1 beetle Haynes to help me keep that wooden ...

Re: NPPL SSEA and SLMG deadline for conversion to EASA
Excuse my ignorance here, I have been an inactive flyer for the last 5 years.
Can you confirm that this conversion cut off date only means that you need an EASA license to fly an EASA aircraft.
Can you can convert later if you get the whim to fly granny in a C150?

Re: CAA to EASA licence conversion
ORS4 1260 supercedes and extends to June 2019
But As I mentioned in a post to Steve, the CAA ppl to easa conversion application form requires a medical certificate.
So it's unclear how you go about applying to convert.

Re: Licensing. Some Good News from the CAA.
Hi Steve I read your article about the "good news",
I have not flown for a while, and have not been reading the mag each month, so the Easa changes left me behind.
I am now in the middle of getting my KR2 permit sorted, and looked to get my PPL(A) and NPPL(A) reval'd - that's when I met flying ...

Hi All,
how easy is it to replace the ignition leads on a D3000 mag, my existing leads are getting a bit manky.
Pete

replacement KR2 (VW) exhaust
Hi all,
does anybody have a recommendation for where to get a KR exhaust made this side of the pond?
Today I took my old exhaust to Zorstec in Shipley, they offered to make me one using the old one as a pattern, they even have a dune buggy sat exhaustless in their shop, so they have a good ...

Hi Jim,
That's what I was thinking, I figured it as an easy way to get an approximate cloud base. These low cost thermometers are probably just as accurate as a wet/dry thermometer and easier to use. I seem to get fairly repeatable measurements with a reading spread of less than one degree allowing ...

infrared thermometers and dewpoint
Hi all,
I have one of these IR thermometers that you just point at things to find out how hot they are, great for checking for blocked rad's, binding brakes etc.
My young son noticed that blue sky is very cold but clouds are only 'a bit cold' so a question that I am hoping someone can answer.
If I ...

As there is no mention of rev counter fluctation, I think it's reasonable to assume that the UltraXL is working fine.
The common thing in all your problems are that they are analog senders, these things all generate very low voltages. I have no experience with the Ultra, but I would expect that all ...
