World trip resumed (flyer for...)
User avatar Re: Taking the long way home: Katamarino's Round the World flight By Katamarino Tue May 09, 2023 20:28#1964732 Well, the longest ever round-the-world flight is ramping up to continue. Since my last update of October 2021, we discovered that the newly replaced camshaft and lifters were al...

Re: Escapade
Rob,
The two here are BMAA.
I thought the example where the seat shifted and killed the pilot last year was LAA. Maybe they therefore do have access to whatever spec you wish to consult.
Why not just continue to use yours as a microlight as prescribed, less hassle as an established route ?

Re: Escapade
They're BMAA a/c. Terry Francis of Reality Escapade was the U.K. kit supplier,. The airframe calculations were originally done long ago by an ex BMAA forum fellow, if need be you should consult them. Terry is regrettably deceased and his business absorbed into that of the current agency who chose to...

Re: Escapade
Most are BMAA so perhaps a call to their engineering ?
If not we have two based at Jackrell's Farm since ~ 2006. One is UK prototype.
Another long term owner still around had one at Billingshurst strip though since sold on.

Propeller Bolts
My 80 h.p Rotax Rans has a two blade Warp Drive prop. attached by six M8 bolts x 100mm. Neither Warp Drive, LAS/Aircraft Spruce, SkyCraft/Rans, or CFS/Rotax can supply drilled head (for locking wire) replacements. (I have also googled & asked several UK bolt co's.) Where/how do other folk get them p...

Re: Electronic Conspicuity. LA article Dec 21
Yes, the three individual records represent three different SE2 locations.in the cockpit. None demonstrate they're much good, hence asking other users how theirs perform. The tail could perhaps be better but only by cutting holes ! So somewhere safe in the cabin is required, sticky tape at the ready...

Re: Electronic Conspicuity. LA article Dec 21
All v. interesting BUT... Has anyone found a good signal out strength place to stick the SE2 in a Rans S6 ? I've tried three places so far: side of windscreen; top of door; and cabin top close to wing root - all wth SE2 vertical. None make very much of show when on my pc I use my Hex in the free to ...

Re: Battery article Jun 21 LA Magazine
Alan. Re your Rotax. Do you still have the original combined rectifier voltage regulator feeding your Li battery ? Or is there more gubbins required to keep it happy. On my S6-116 the large lead acid battery is already in the Rans designed place, at full arm stretch down the fuselage behind the lugg...

Re: Bing 54 carb parts
I guess you tried one of the on-line BMW carb spares firms ?
Jets at least. Needle might be trickier.
TBH I stuck to as supplied for my Bings (Rotax 912).
