I had an answer from John Tempest about this subject back when he worked at LAA Engineering.
I'm paraphrasing now because it was a long time ago, but basically the WAR aircraft have a tendency to be heavier than designed.
Dynol is replaced in favour of much heavier glass cloth, foam densities must ...

That must be a bit like the Glasair adhesives too then. Did anyone else spot a certain irony about the recent LAA mag feature on a Glasair III, mentioning in one breath the spectacular aerobatic displays done by Bob Herendeen in the US southern states, then in the next saying it wasn't strong enough ...

I haven't been looking all that closely at LAA stuff recently due to work and other distractions, but I did go to Perth. I have to be honest, I went there with another LAA member because there was an airshow on. I did notice a reasonable number of LAA aircraft there but I wasn't aware it was also a ...

So is it just a phone call to fix this? Hasn't anyone elses' renewal letter had £48 on the bottom section stating the membership due?
Still can't get my head around why partial membership is called "Full" and full is called "Full Plus" though - but I agree there are more important things to spend ...

Membership Renewal
Hi all,
My wife opened a letter from LAA yesterday and renewed my membership while I was at work. When I got home and read it I discovered there was an Orwellian Doublethink two-tier membership now.
She's renewed me at £48 because that's what the letter said the renewal was, but the waffle was on ...

Fabric for sling-seats?
Can anyone recommend a suitable fabric for making sling seats from?
Also, what's the best stitch to use for such an application?
Thanks in advance,
Jamie
