It's not as though the 582 is a particularly challenging or expensive engine to strip down and rebuild. If it were me I'd probably just do the overhaul .

It's a mostly helpful thread with a few shocking responses.

There are one or two LAA members who have done us all a disservice with their responses. On the whole the responses seem fair, helpful, and well received by the thread author.

My wife opened a letter from LAA yesterday and renewed my membership while I was at work. When I got home and read it I discovered there was an Orwellian Doublethink two-tier membership now.

She's renewed me at £48 because that's what the letter said the renewal was, but the waffle was on ...
