Have you checked your spam folder? It is a mass e-mail and they often get picked up by spam checkers.

Re: Permit turnaround times - optimisation.....
Or better still, encourage members to use this forum to discuss member only subjects. There is a lot of " I spoke to a man in a pub yesterday......" on the Flyer forum.

Re: Hornet's Nest?
John, Sorry for my failure to reply. I have been off air for a while. The best way to answer your questions is to attend the fly in at Popham and meet the engineering team. Everything you mention is possible but it relies on you having the technical skills or resources to be able to comply with the ...

Re: Hornet's Nest?
Welcome to the LAA world. The biggest difference between the US home built world and the UK is that the USA have an experimental category that allows almost everything (not quite everything) but in the UK the LAA has to work in accordance with its CAA approval and home built aircraft need to comply ...

Re: Battery article Jun 21 LA Magazine
Hi Ian, I am surprised that there have been no comments. I thought it was a good article. One area I would like to explore is the charging system on Rotax powered aircraft which now represents a large section of our fleet. The alternator is controlled by a remote regulator that has a fixed voltage o...

Re: The Importance of Voting at OUR AGM .
TC-T quote "I am sorry that the 2018 AGM is confronted by a motion about me. It comes at the suggestion of the Chairman." I had intended to refrain from making any comment on this subject but I feel I must respond to Tracy's comment above. Ever since the original motion was passed Tracy has been try...

Re: An open letter to the leadership of the LAA
Piers, You are calling for an LAA mandate to fit one particular EC system. Whilst I admire your passion and encourage your call for discussion on this subject I think there are some hard facts that must be taken into account. A Mandate is a regulation by another name. The LAA is not a regulator- we ...

Re: Grey Aviation
I have been reading the comments about the rally with interest. I learned some years ago (before my hair was grey) that a complaint is a gift. We have over 7,500 members and very few bother to let us know how we are doing or give us some ideas, so thank you. First, in defence of Brian Hope- there is...

Steve, Welcome to the LAA world. You will already have seen that our community is ready and willing to give advice. I live on the outskirts of Horsham and you are welcome to pop round for a cup of coffee/tea and a chat. You can contact me through my LAA e-mail address brian.davies at laa dot uk dot ...

Re: Coaching Scheme
Gentlemen, I have been monitoring this very useful discussion but not poking my nose in so far. The message is clear. This has been discussed by the board and Steve Slater and I have talked to Jon Cooke about how we can make better use of the PCS. We all want to expand the availability and capabilit...

Re: polarn pump urgent warning
The post refers to flakes of some substance detaching from the extension tube on the pump, getting into the aircraft fuel system. Apart from warning of the source of the problem the risk mitigation is clearly stated- never pump fuel directly into the aircraft fuel tank. Always use a filtered funnel.

Re: Jodel detained at Plymouth
As I am sure you know, it took far more than a letter from Charles Strasser to resolve this matter. The LAA was heavily involved behind the scenes and an unprecedented level of social media interest played its part. . The chairman of SHH has publicly stated that pilots landing in a genuine emergency...

Re: Jodel detained at Plymouth
The Strasser scheme is an agreement with operational airports to not charge landing fees when weather diversions etc are necessary. Carrying out a precautionary landing on private property, including some land that was once an airport, requires the co-operation and agreement of the land owner. The k...

Re: Jodel detained at Plymouth
I think some quiet diplomacy behind the scenes has led to a satisfactory conclusion to this saga. Once the aircraft has departed Plymouth we will be able to share more information.
