Henstridge Easter Fly In - Saturday April 7th
Dear All, Once again it is nearly time to start the Fly In season and as usual we are running the traditional Easter Fly In at Henstridge. There is no pre-registration required this year, but please see the page on the Strut website - http://www.wessexstrut.org.uk/?page_id=92 This tells you how to g...

Why anyone would sign a document that needs to be changed is beyond me. Get it right and acceptable to the NC and I am sure Wessex and the rest of us will sign. Exactly. We had a choice between signing on the understanding that it would be fixed, or holding off until it was fixed. We chose the latt...

Is there something to stop you signing the charter and organising TPPF as a non-LAA activity, with your own insurance? After all that is what you will be doing outside of the LAA? Hi Ian, That sounds like the obvious solution, doesn't it? And it's actually what we were doing before the Charter came...

Hi Brian, Actually, TPPF was the key issue. We wish to do it, and that's not compatible with signing the Charter. I hope it gets sorted out in time for the 2012 season; we'll then hold an EGM with a view to signing. I also note the new "atmosphere" about the NC and making it work. We'll certainly be...

Wessex Strut votes to not sign Club Charter
The Wessex Strut held its AGM on Monday and voted against signing the LAA Club Charter. I'm just posting this because it seems that one of the arguments for signing is that everyone else has. If you are hearing this argument, it's clearly wrong. Please understand this in no way means the Wessex Stru...

Gentlemen, I see that yesterday afternoon an outline draft of Regulations were emailed out. So far I've only had a quick look through them but they look ok. So, that's another brick in place, thanks. Several other documents came too. The NC procedures and code of conduct are worth a read between the...

2) The Charter asks us to abide by "LAA Rules and Regulations at all times". Now I have a copy of the Rules but I see no Regulations so I am being asked to take something on trust. Alan has spotted the problem. AFAIUI, the Rules say that Clubs must follow the Regulations. But the Regulations have n...

Many thanks to everyone who came, and I hope you enjoyed yourselves. We were hit by unimaginably fabulous weather, and about 140 aircraft flew in. The timing of the comings and goings meant that we had about 139 visiting aircraft on the ground at the same time. We had an overflow aircraft parking an...

Hi Brian, Not sure how to respond to that, except to say I certainly don't want to fall out with you. You at least are on here regularly, trying to keep members informed; and you have said it hasn't been handled very well, which I appreciate. You seem to have become the unofficial liaison route betw...

Hi Everyone, Since Jim has mentioned me, I'll risk joining in. I just survived a tornado in Florida last week, so I'm probably qualified to face an internet Forum. The February meeting at Turweston was a little strange. Over a period of hours it emerged that HQ was in a panic over the liability and ...
