Re: Rotax 912 running ruff during mag drop....?

At what RPM are you doing the mag check ?

If at 4000 then , like some has said go for a plug but more like a plug cap as the resistor inside cracks, test by removing the cap and checking with a meter anything over 5.2K ohm and its a bin job.

Re: Rotax ignition interference

Have you got it sorted ? Test run with the "P" or ignition kill wire disconnected at unit end, kill engine by turning fuel off and waiting. If this stops the nose re rout the kill wires away from any radio power or aerial wire . There is about 40 V AC in those wire when running and it will cause EM ...

Re: Rotax and Avgas

I notice the half penny green has removed UL 91, I asked Chris at Turweston and he suggested that it was the price V volume was not worth there while. He also mentioned that lycomings from Turweston were experiancing better fuel consumption when using the UL 91 , can any one confirm this as this wou...

Re: Rotax and Avgas

few answers to above points NEVER wash out the ethanol in affected fuel as this will lower the octance rating of the fuel by several points and then you risk destroying the engine. this goes for 2 or 4 stroke. UK "normal" fuel is the same a "super "in Europe were they have a lower grade as the base ...

Re: Removing carbon from pistons

Do you have carbon only or do you have Avgas deposites IE TEL deposits? If only on mogas , I use soap powder solution , @ 60 c and green scotch bright pads, should soften up . Never boil or leave unattended . Some use cif and green pads and hot water , works on 2 strokes.......... Never use abrasive...

Re: Fuel leaking from carb when turning over 912 engine

Sound like the carb float valve is not seating , probably a bit of muck on the seat. Remove the float bowl and let some fuel flow through. If you have a squeeze bulb use this to flush the fuel through the carb. replace and try. If it persits then it may need stripping and cleaning but this trick norm...

Re: Rotax and Avgas

If your eurostar is microlight no worries use the mogas.
Murco and jet stations around leicester are ethanol free FYI.

Re: 12v fuel pump and gascolator guidance

Place near and below the tank so it self primes , this will reduce any chance of vapour lock as it wont have to suck. 5 Amp curcuit breaker will cover the power and use a dedicated earth return to the battery.

Re: High wing fuel tank drain valve.

As most tanks dont pick fuel up from the extream bottom this allows water to collect , now if the "unuseable fuel " is mainly water evemtually it could all flow to the gascolater ( during a rough flight, low fuel level etc) and fill it to the point that the engine only gets water.............. Drain...
