I understand that France grants blanket permission for PtF aircraft from the UK (a reference would be good, please).
Which other countries do so?

Re: BANK FRAUD. The elephant in the room?
After the full and open report we read yesterday, is there much more to be said?

Altitude encoder to a good home
My AK-350 altitude encoder kept dropping to zero then returning. I eventually gave up and fitted a new one. I have now opened up the old one and there is evidence of a powder, which may be corrosion or spillage, around the feet of the output transistor and maybe one of the ICs. I don't have the incl...

Re: Help with overreading ASI
On Pitot. But Altimeter and VSI worked fine throughout, only the ASI was affected.

Noise reduction
I have been long resentful that in the certified world it is not permitted (without the 5-6 figure cost of recertification) to be a good citizen and put four blade props and silencers on my MEP. Just for altruism. With the purchase of my lovely Emeraude, I am new to this whole uncertified world. But...

Re: Glass DGI
Sorry, strictly I should have written replacing the mechanical DGI with a glass DI, but I think what I'll do is fit a Kanardia HORIS and have only a track reference. We will still have the magnetic compass if we need to know magnetic heading, but, for most purposes a track indicator will be fine.

Help with overreading ASI
The ASI in my aircraft clearly overreads, by between 12 and 15 kts (12 at the slower end, 15 at the higher.) I know this for a number of reasons: 1. I have compared ASI and GPS groundspeed, on a calm day and going in different directions, and ASI beats GPS by 15kts. 2. Stall speed is 12kts above boo...

Glass DGI
I don’t know if this is a stupid question, but can you a glass DI? I don't have a GPS, so I can’t have a EHSI, nor do I want one, but my DGI is awful and needs replacement, and it seems a bit silly in this day and age to replace it with a mechanical gyro, when a digital one would work better, be lig...
