Sorry, strictly I should have written replacing the mechanical DGI with a glass DI, but I think what I'll do is fit a Kanardia HORIS and have only a track reference. We will still have the magnetic compass if we need to know magnetic heading, but, for most purposes a track indicator will be fine.

The ASI in my aircraft clearly overreads, by between 12 and 15 kts (12 at the slower end, 15 at the higher.) I know this for a number of reasons: 1.
