Richard Warriner

I have just seen on the BBC website that Richard Warriner died on Friday (August 7). This is incredibly sad news. Richard was an intrepid but very safety conscious pilot who helped many others in his role as an instructor. The accident occurred close to the airfield he flew from for many years, Brad...

Re: The Importance of Voting at OUR AGM .

I suspect (well at least hope) that many others like me haven't posted previously but have read with great interest the postings on this thread. It has stirred up a lot of emotion and I have nothing further to add. Rest assured everyone I will be casting my proxy vote as I did previously, anticipati...

Stainless Steel Whip Antenna

This antenna is a Rami AV534 and is still boxed with all parts and instructions. Bought last year but now not required by me. Current retail price is over £75 which makes this a good deal at £50 plus postage.

Re: PPL with a LAPL Medical?

Thanks to both Alans for confirming what I assumed still to be the case - I guess we can only keep waiting unless anyone knows of a way to lobby about such things? Alan R - Life in Spain is good, we have a new home and I have secured a hangar at Totana airfield. Not so good is the long wait for my n...

PPL with a LAPL Medical?

Hi everyone, Having searched high and low here and on other well known forums I can't find the answer to this question - can anyone here provide definitive advice, please? (Can't find it on the CAA or EASA sites either). In a few weeks time I need to revalidate my medical, currently having a Class I...

Re: Rally 2017 Multiple Landing Slots

Having received the reminder email from the LAA yesterday I reconsidered attending the rally. I have been most years and I wasn't sure if I was going to this year or not. I tried to book a slot both on Friday and Saturday and found it was fully booked and obvious to me that several pilots had booked...

Re: Looking for an LAA aircraft

Hi,

Would you be interested in a part built Kitfox Seven kit? It has options for a tailwheel or trigear both included in the kit. I am selling due to relocation so if you are interested please contact me.

Thanks,

Paul. :)

Just submitted a supporting response to the application in time, as I see tonight it closes.

Good luck with the application.

Welcome

And it's a particular welcome to another SportCruiser builder. For a mass of tips and information also make sure you join our forum: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sportcruiser/ where you will find many likeminded chaps either in the process of building or sourcing avionics or even flying. Good luck ...

Jim,

It's CAP 562 not 526 - am I to take it that others may believe this "official" document has been superceded (or just ignored)?

I.D. Plates

Sandy, Thanks for the most helpful reply to-date. This confirms what I suspected. Interestingly the CAP states that the fireproof plate should not only have the reg. on it but also the owners name and address. This is in contradiction to what previous inspectors have told me. We now have the require...

Rod,

I think it is unlikely that the rules have changed - I believe it is a Universal rule to allow identification of any aircraft (wreckage) anywhere in the world should the worst happen!

I guess I will need two plates then!

Happy Christmas,

Aircraft Plates

Brian, A great idea and I will certainly order one for my new Sportcruiser. Just one question: will this plate act as the fireproof plate I need to affix to my plane? I understood such a plate (with the reg on it) had to withstand a fire so that the remains could be identified and if so isn't an all...
