Re: Low-Hours Propeller Inspection Protocol

I have had my LPIP carried out and am pleased to report all went well. I discussed the inspection with a couple of companies who both quoted the same price I decided to go with Brinkley’s as they were happy to have me in the workshop during the tear down and inspection. The engineer who done the wor...

Low-Hours Propeller Inspection Protocol

I was pleased to see the announcement on LPIP it’s great to see some common sense being applied our generally lightly used aircraft. As the owner of a McCauley 3 blade CS prop with only seven hours on it I did not rellesh forking out for a full overhaul. So I was wondering if anyone had went through...

Re: Is designing an aircraft a realistic goal

Hi. Garry

If you only need one seat then that category is deregulated. It will still need the same design and testing but you do not have to have any of that data approved by anyone.

Re: Aluminium Priming

Keep an eye on the mag sure there was mention of an up coming article on priming. Also I believe a new TL coming out on the subject.

Also discuss with your inspector as they have to be happy with the airframe construction to sign off on it.

Re: Bearhawk 4 seat taildragger

Hi. Richard.

A good site for the Bearhawk is the Missipi Mudbug builders website by Eric Newton.

You may have seen it already but I thought it worth posting just in case as its a great site with a ton of information.

Eric sells a builders manual which I bought, it's very well presented.

Re: Bearhawk 4 seat taildragger

Hi, Richard. Don't assume that any mods would be required, they may not, however engineering would need to assess the design before they could answer that. Perhaps the designer Bob Barrows would be prepared to provide a not for construction set of plans direct to the LAA for assessment. Are you inte...

Re: Insurance recommendations?

Shop around and check the policy details carefully so you can compare like for like.

I am with Traffords, I have had quotes from Visicover twice but each time Traffords was cheaper.

Good luck with your new aircraft.

It was. You have to stick to the service schedule and best to use the manufacturers filters etc. but you are not forced to use the original manufacturer.

Re: acceptable dual ignition

Hi. Tom. Let us know how you get on if you don't mind, new engine options are always of interest. I like one of the points made on the Gazaile web site that you can build the aircraft with the engine all for less than the cost of a Rotax 912 engine. Now that can't be bad. The diesel option certainly...

Hi. Hayden.

There was an advert on AFORS a while back for a new UK canopy maker.

There was no web page just a name and email address.

Re: FK-Lightplanes

Hi. Peter Which model are you interested in? FK have been around a long time so if the model you are interested in is one which has been in production for a substantial period of time there may be an approval route open to you. If the fleet of the model you are interested in has acquired 2500 flight...
