White Oratex fabric
5 metres of 1.8m wide, white Oratex fabric. 6000 grade. Left over from poorly estimated glider recover. Would sell for about half the new price. Currently in Leicester.

This lot will probably build you a trailer but it won't be cheap, Good quality though.

Re: Fuselage Frame Fabric
+1 for Oratex.. Quite expensive but quick results and not bad for your health. Also lighter than other fabrics and easy to repair.

Re: Avmap ULTRA EFIS calibration
Once you calibrate the compass it displays heading instead of track and I've never found out how to revert to track. As I find track more useful than heading, I leave my compass uncalibrated.

Re: panel labels
What about a Dymo label maker. The type that use D1 cassettes do white on black labels.

Re: Welding your own fusalage
In a typical fuselage where you have positioned the longerons in some type of jig, you are then adding a diagonal and then a vertical and then another diagonal. Where the longerons meet a vertical and a diagonal it is not possible to weld all the edges that touch, e.g. you can only weld just over ha...

Wanted, 57mm Altimeter
2 or 3 needle 57mm altimeter wanted, Elliot or similar would be ideal. Not keen on paying £700 for a winter.
Firewall
The firewall for our SD1 will be Carbolane 1/8inch thick covered by 0.5mm stainless steel. The carbolane is crushable so how do you handle points like where the engine mount attaches to the firewall. Do you trim the carbolane and stainless arround the engine mount, do you bolt through the stainless ...

Re: Welding your own fusalage
I'd recomend getting a foot pedal. It reduces the skill level required.

Any decent optician will apply a graduated tint for you and most will adjust it of it isn't quite right first time, I find a brown tint is best.

Re: Briggs and Stratton aero engines
There web site shows that they tune the 625cc Briggs from 23 up to 28hp and the 993cc from 35 to 56hp in both cases without large increases in max revs (which is what you need for a direct drive engine. Unfortunately the 623cc engine is light enough at 35kg but not powerful enough and the 993cc engi...

Re: Briggs and Stratton aero engines
Colin, Since the Verner option is no longer available the engine choice has become more difficult. I would like a 4 stroke but my partner would like the 50hp 3 stroke. If we could get a slightly more powerful 4 stroke option (35hp) then I'm sure we could both be happy. We don't want to do too many c...

Briggs and Stratton aero engines
I've been searching the web for a Briggs Vanguard conversion with a reduction drive (or without) of at least 30hp and weighing less than 40kg with exhaust and prop. Soloflight Ltd are an obvious contender. Does anyone know of anyone else marketing these conversions in the UK?
Re: SD1
Thanks. I wasn't aware.
