I appear to have an intermittant transmission problem. On an outbound flight yesterday I was having difficulty making myself heard over anything more than 5 miles, transmitting at strength 1 or less, but was hearing everyone else strength 5. Have to agree there Welshman. I'm not fussed how dark or light it is when I'm going to work in the mornings, but an extra hour of light in the evenings would make a huge difference. More flying in the Autumn and it would also help reduce "seasonal adjustment disorder" I reckon.

Probably a silly suggestion, but I've noticed during descent that the fluid in my compass (which needs topping up) provides an elaborate surface pattern that would appear to be correlated to cockpit vibration. During descent the trusty rotax has the occasional miss when not under load and I have not...

This Weekend

Is anything happening this weekend? At the moment the WX looks ok but I'm loathe to suggest anything or it will start raining again.

For a JAA PPL I think the max is 5700kg. I think the Antonov AN2 is about as big as you can go.

Alternatively you can get a 'Sigg' spun aluminium seamless bottle from Millets camping dept for £14.99. Mines done 300 hours with no problems.
