I think Rob has touched on an important point - airspace complexity. I very much advocate the map/watch/eyeball method of navigation. jeffyc..... was just on the Luscombe forum.... there's a lovely 8F just gone up for sale. It is a lovely machine and the F has a higher MTOW than the 8A.... though it may also have a higher empty weight.
