EAA and LAA 7 day Sling Build
The latest EAA e-Hotline post includes the news about the 7 day build at the LAA Rally. Basically our press release but a pic of the aircraft as well.

Re: Captain Eric (Winkle) Brown
A programme about Captain Brown is on BBC2 (except Wales for some reason) Friday 26 Feb at 1900hrs. It's a repeat from a month or so ago. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a lecture he gave. What a pilot and what a gentleman. For those who know the adage about Bold Pilots and Old Pilots, he reall...

Re: landing tops (nose heavy ?)
Mike,
On your glide approach you will be coming in steeper than a powered one, try two flares, one to flatten your initial approach then a normal flare to land. I fly spam cans and it works a treat.

Re: Proposed Air Strip, South Moor Farm. Planning Applicatio
I have received a letter off North York Moors National Park Authority saying they had turned down the application but it has been appealed to the Secretary of State. The reasons and arguments the planners use against this type of application come pre-packed ready to use. Now had he wished to put a w...

Re: Jabiru engined a/c Limitations
I was a little taken aback by the tone of some of the replies to Rod's post. The fact that Rod posted this at least brought it to a wider audience, it may all be exaggerated but at least more Jab owners will pick up on it.

Colin, I was only thinking about the same thing reference the knighthood, probably didn't get it because he doesn't sing, dance, play sport or act. Maybe we should start a petition.

Re: If Scotland votes for separation?
There are disagreements between the "for" & "against" about EU membership if Scotland votes for separation. If Scotland has to apply to join, I assume like anything in the EU, it will take a long time. In that case how would EASA rules affect Scotland during this time period? Also, if Scotland separ...

Re: Farnborough Controlled Airspace
It does appear that you are not a real airport unless you have your own CAS.
Anyone know the answer to this?
Do airports that have CAS have to pay for it and all the consultation and implementation costs?

Re: LAA Website
Paul's entitled to his opinion but such a combative post! Is there a hidden agenda here? As an EAA member, I view both websites, ours is fine, it serves its members, is full of information & does the job required. It will never outperform the EAA one but we do not the EAA resources. Merry Christmas ...
