Can you not get the CAA to accept a e-mail to tower to confirm the pilot has read the procedure so the tower can release a slot freed on the day. Seems this would be as secure as online booking system to me.

Re: Handheld radio - New purchase & Licence application
Ian give it a try do you know anyone with a transportable licence who is not buying one and could get one for you and get subsidy.
A licence bought now will be for a 8.33 radio but you will need one anyway.

Re: Medical self-declaration
It seems that following a warning from AOPA the CAA have found that you can not use a medical declaration to fly a EASA aircraft on a EASA licence in UK as proposed as in EU law a GP or AME signature is required see flyer forum.

Re: Icom A6E
Rob Can you confirm that the regulator you specify is common negative as the advert dose not say. I say this because I would expect the radio aerial screen, mic & speaker screen to all be internally connected to the radio negative supply as per the older radios & you have not said if you have tested...

Re: medicals
Malcolm I should have said this applies to us older pilots where the class 2 is for 12 months but also covers LAPL for 24 months if this is the case the LAPL expiry date is also on the medical certificate.

Re: medicals
Malcolm If you look at your class 2 medical you should see it is still valid for a further 12 months as a LPPL medical. Clive
