Very good post. Think it may require a bit more than an hour per week to make sure that the important bits are communicated. I know how difficult it is to keep everyone informed on all the goings on as people get very busy and are so immersed in the issues that it is easy to forget not everyone is o...

It's been a few years since I have posted on here but plus ca change. As soon as anyone posts anything which by some cognoscenti can be construed as criticism Brian will shoot them down. Obviously someone in the LAA must have decided that having a forum is a 'good thing' otherwise no money and effor...

Mike, I don't need to target anything or anyone, I have no axe to grind and certainly would never make condescending remarks about other posters. I summarised in another post there have been 3 issues that I have commented on, not sure if that equates to 'just about everything the LAA proposes' I som...

John, Welshman may have broader shoulders than some but to write that someone has 'paranoidal postings' is both unnecessary and potentially libellous. If folks decide not to post anymore on account of the contributions of others then that is a great shame but ultimately their choice. I can not disce...

I heartily concur with J.C's. sentiments. Persistently under a pseudonym related, one supposes, to his Principality this individual has succeeded in tarring all Welshmen with the brush of surliness & backbiting. Rarely indeed do his paranoidal writings contribute much. Perhaps in another life he's ...

OK Roger, if there are no safety implications could you please put me right on this issue. As an owner/pilot I receive the GASIL safety publications distributed by the CAA. I always flip through the small booklet listing all accidents/incidents which are in alphabetical order to check if there has ...

To ask people to put their name in their 'handle' or signature, fair enough, but to question their name when they do so is a faux pas.

BUT Frank, Your costs claims remain hearsay. [Though I'm pleased to note you're polite underneath all the bluster !] That is unless you can believe what someone writes in good faith.... Mike and Peter, I am always polite but that does not stop people from saying I am a whinger, and posts from whing...

John The comment about not signing the post was firmly tongue in cheek! Hence the smiley! Here is another one in case you missed it:   I know you were against the rule re enforced membership and the recent contribution you made about the anonymity thread the line up of the three issues w...

Hear hear.

It would also give GA an annual focus.

There clearly is an appetite for these events and with its membership being a captive audience the LAA would have a headstart.

Not sure why the LAA can not have a successful annual international Rally when commercial operators seem to manage OK.

John In the 10+ years that I have been a PFA/LAA member I have made comments on these shores about 3 things: 1. The compulsion of all syndicate members to have to be PFA/LAA members before a Permit will be issued. I said, as did others for whom this was acutely an issue, that this would potentially ...

Which people exactly Frank ? Let's see fact, not more unsubstantiated comments ! As for Permit delay, you're ONE example only & can't speak for the rest of us. Anyway you spoil your argument with too many pejoratives ! Mike, I am not going to descend into a competition who is here the tallest but f...

Not sure that I understand that for making some statements of facts and disagreeing with Brian Hope I deserve to be made out to be a whinger! I said that there are people who now pay more under the permit regime than they used to when they have a CAA CofA that is just true. When Brian Hope suggests ...

Brian that would have indeed been an option but that would have been even worse than being forced down the LAA route. I don't think it is churlish to make some comment about the cost involved with these transfers, especially as the LAA prides itself on striving for cost efficient flying and wants to...

Brian The problem is that some people having owned a machine which was previously on a CofA were forced down the LAA route; they had no choice. These folks are now paying a premium over what they used to pay when they were on a CofA. Not to mention the considerable amount of delay caused by the LAA ...
