Re: 8.33hz radios

That's all anyone is asking Brian. We know we can do sweet FA about mandatory 8.33, But asking the LAA to help with lobbying various hand held manufacturers isn't asking too much is it? Expecting them to listen to a couple of hundred minions begging for them to seek approval, or the weight of variou...

Re: 8.33hz radios

Maybe it is a European wide issue. Therefore let's all wait for a European Association to pick up the ball and run with it? Why not start with our own Association who do have a voice in Europe?

Re: 8.33hz radios

Brian, Far from battering doors down, A well worded proposal to various Hand held Radio manufacturers from the LAA would be far more effective than a couple of dozen letters written by individuals. After all the LAA is supposed to be run for it's members and many of whom have no way to fit fixed rad...

Re: 8.33hz radios

Maybe the LAA should be pressing for the approval. After all they do represent Grass Roots Aviation. :?:

Re: What has the Future Airspace Strategy done for us?

That's fine if it were only true James. All too often we hear of transits being refused, which only alienates the majority of vfr pilots who ask for one. Joined up thinking isn't hard. Why must I give up airspace, which up until now could use freely so that others might make a profit? At least buy my ...

Re: What has the Future Airspace Strategy done for us?

I think what I want most is for the BIG boys to stop telling us what we want, when we don't actually want nor need it. As for Southend. What would James have us do when Southend get their wish? No way to go south without being squeezed by increasing amounts of airspace which is disproportionate to m...

Re: LAPL Privilages

Thanks Donald,
I'll get in touch with them. They did however issue a new NPPL with the LAPL, but as it's their mistake I am sure it will get my £35 back.

Re: LAPL Privilages

Dammit,
It looks as though I've been conned. As I ticked the box for retention of UK pilot license the geezer at CAA should not have charged me because I think it means UK PPL and not NPPL.
Can some one confirm?

Re: LAPL Privilages

Hi Donald, I just did a quick check and this is from the CAA scheme of charges. I did tick the box to say I wish to retain my NPPL rating and it does say to retain Do you think I have been robbed? 3.3 National UK Pilot’s Licence – issue to retain National UK ratings Upon making a conversion / replac...

Re: LAPL Privilages

Success. I received my new LAPL today. The form was correct as was the cost £41 + £6 courier. I however decided to retain my NPPL also and my total cost came to £82. I retained my NPPL as the medical is for 5 years and a little easier and cheaper to pass if anything should go wrong. As they are both...

Re: UK Licence with Medical Declaration

An LAPL would suffice and use of radio navs are not required.

http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/SRG1104FFenabled.pdf is the form required. £41 + £6 courier service unless you tick the no box.
