Try a copy of - 'Light Airplane Construction For Amateur Builders' - by Ladislao Pazmany; mostly about constructing a PL2 - but quite some detail on making the wing root fairings and cowlings in GRP. Was available from LAA.
Worth a read.

PAINT REMOVAL ON CECONITE
Many years ago I removed all the paint from an Aeronca Chief using MEK but changed to safer (slightly) acetone. That was butyrate over nitrate. A lot of difference between 3003 and 2024 - 3003 is manganese based and 2024 is copper based alu alloy. I have a pdf. Aluminium Properties size 1.1Mb. should answer all you need to know :lol: - and more :shock: . Otherwise look in Aircraft Spruce catalogue for brief description. Not sure how to send...
