Tony, The Elf refinery at Milford adds ETBE (not an alcohol) to certain deliveries (but not all), ethanol can be added for certain customers (unfortunately I've been unable to determine which) SEM logistics Milford (former Gulf refinery) imports mogas from Europe where it may or may not contain etha...

Not a correct interpretation of RTFO John. The revised requirements in the UK for 2009/2010 is 3.25% of total fuel supplied. This does not mean that all fuel will have 3.25% biocomponent, it means that the average fuel supplied should* be 3.25% - this for example can be made up from say 65% sold wit...

In fact, during that particular test the volume of water actually grew, probably a result of absorbtion of some the petrol in to the water. DMcF. The only component of gasoline that can be absorbed into water is alcohol. If there was an observable increase in the level, the fuel would not be legal ...

I've filled in the form and emailed it off. No acknowledgement (yet). Does this count as obtaining PPR (which the web says is mandatory)?

I'm hoping to go up Fri and back Sun :D Sat perhaps looks the most iffy weather wise, and the airfield is notammed shut from 10am Sat for the airshow so you'll have to set off pretty early (even in your MCR!) to arrive in time.

Group agreements

I seem to recall there used to be a group agreement pro-forma suitable for permit aircraft somewhere on the website, but can't currently locate it.

Would be grateful if someone could provide a link or email a copy.

Thanks

Sounds like the safest thing would be to shut the forum to all postings

There was a post on Proon last week from a would-be builder looking for advice on building a KR2. Had he been allowed to post, he would have had a good response on here. Is that not the sort of person the LAA should be looking to welcome with open arms rather than restrict from posting? Mike Birchall

Shell's policy has always been to discourage the use of Mogas in aviation. With regards to insurance - most biogasoline in the UK can only be detected by fairly advanced analytical techniques, and is virtually undetectable in the CAA prescribed test. An end-user cannot be expected to undertake anyth...

True, supermarket fuel does come from a variety of sources, and I'm fully aware of those (its my job to be).

I say again, certain supermarket fuels contain bioethanol. Oil majors fuel currently does not.

RTFO applied from April 1st this year, but none of the oil majors are currently adding any biocomponents to their Mogas yet. Will advise on here if/when they start. Certain* Supermarket's fuel does currently have biocomponents though, although chances are you will not detect them using the prescribe...
