Re: Modifying Leburg.

Nick. That is good news. I'll see what they have to offer. Hopefully they can retrofit since I already have 3 controllers, having sold off the rest. Chris. I'd looked at the 123 system but it still will suffer from the spark scatter due to the poor method of coordinating distributor to crankshaft vi...

Re: English Wheel and Metal Shaping Course

I have similar kit here near St Athan if anyone fancies a play. No charge, just bring Dark Chocolate Digestives.

Re: Modifying Leburg.

Thanks Chris. This idea is for setting up the tuning on a 1949 Morris rally car for which no tuning data exists. Lots of scatter due to the poor design of the ignition system so a simple Leburg system would have been handy rather than the more fancy Megaolt-type things. Are there any photos around o...

Modifying Leburg.

Hello. I was asked recently if the Leburg system is made in a manner that would permit it to be user-modified with regards to the timing curve and the rev limiter that currently comes in at 4000 rpm. Not knowing much about wiggly amps I thought someone here might be clued up on the subject enough to...

Water temp and rpm now fully calibrated. 1475 rpm and 19.81 degrees centigrade on the upside-down LCD screen in the top right corner.

Re: RPM "Danger Band" warning device?

Nick. Type "Arduino" and practically anything else into google and you'll find someone using one to run just about everything you can imagine. http://playground.arduino.cc/Projects/Ideas Basic board on Ebay is below £5 so it doesn't break the bank if it were to go "Pfhut". I've just started looking ...

Re: RPM "Danger Band" warning device?

They make 'modules' for GPS, compass, 3D accelerometers , air pressure comparison (ASI/Pitot), air temp/humidity (carb icing) and many more, all for very low prices. It is a wonder that nobody has developed a mini SSDR IFR EFIS display!

Version 1 up for testing. It will display Rpm, oil pressure and water temperature whilst also setting off some big LEDs if anything goes outside of the required parameters. Less than £50.

Re: RPM "Danger Band" warning device?

Thanks, Chris. Anyway, I've ordered an Arduino computer kit since they can be made to run all the items I've been thinking about and can also display temperatures and pressures through the same cheap device. I need to learn how to 'code' it but it seems simple enough. Details to follow, albeit not f...

Re: RPM "Danger Band" warning device?

Thanks guys. Colin might have given me an idea that could solve the problem. I've avoided the use of a normal revcounter since with no synchro, cable brakes etc it is easy to neglect the revs, hence the idea of using a light. I shall look around for an LED revcounter and see if I can splice in some ...

RPM "Danger Band" warning device?

Are there any electrickery people here? I have a little problem with an old Austin Seven which is an ideal tow car for a small homebuilt since nobody will expect it to go very fast, with or without an aeroplane on the back. Our Morris is being rebuilt and won't have a towbar on it once finished. On ...

Wanted: Lucas SR$ drive cogs.

If anyone has some surplus drive cogs for SR4 mags then please could they let me know? I have mags but the toothed cogs to run a chain are missing from the boxes and I can't think where they went. Doh!

Thanks

Re: Rivet gun choices

Just had a reply from LAS. They are unable to tell me if the rivet snaps they sell are for universal head rivets (an470) or some other profile. Item number 120 in their catalogue, i think.
Can anyone enlighten me (us)?
