Re: Claim re contribution towards the cost of 8.33 kHz radio

Maybe The Refund Department and Flight Crew Licencing are having a race - to see who can take the longest to accomplish a simple task. Nothing at the CAA takes less than months...

But, not to be churlsish, my Christmas ski-trip is half-paid-for...

Namely that small samples sizes (in this case one accident) provide statistically valid information on the larger poul...

Lee On Solent - 18th September 2010

Lee Flying Association will be holding an informal fly-in at Lee On Solent on the 18th September 2010. As with the May-Day fly-in numbers will be limited and you will need PPR. Unlike in May, there will be gliding activity on the 18th September, so please take care to read the briefing notes sent ou...

Irv You asked for new ideas. I'm not sure any one new idea is going to solve the problem but here is one that thinks the unthinkable: Make all the various sources of navigation related data, copyright free and simply available . Everything, the whole damn lot, charts, met, notams. Swallow the loss o...

Pwllheli

Can anyone point me towards an available strip for a visit to Pwllheli (North Wales). I know I can use Caernarfon but it's a fair trek down proper old donkey-tracks from Caernarfon to Pwllheli. I only need 300 metres of half-decent grass or even just a well-mown reasonably flat meadow! For those of ...

I too have packed my bags and left. I only hope my contribution, mostly to the technical side of things has been helpful.

The things that really need to be said are now in snail-mail to the Chief Executive.

I can confirm that the 'complete' set of plans for a Nipper I have here is complete except for the fuselage drawings..... From my understanding, the solution suggested by Colin C above is currently not permitted by the LAA. The Tipsy Nipper does however feature on the LAA "Type for Homebuilt List - ...

On my Nipper with Leeburg ignition I use high quality KV85 ignition leads from Magnecor http://www.magnecor.co.uk/productinformation.htm with standard (no resistor) spark plugs. I have a Filser TRT600 radio. There is absolutely no ignition noise whatsoever. I do have a very low level of alternator n...
