Re: Building in France

I've responded directly to Allan via PM, but for completeness on this thread, I advised him that as I've not yet managed to move to France (Brexit uncertainty), I'm unable to advise him on my experiences in homebuilding there.

Re: HomeBuilt Help DVD's - Zenith CH750

Hi Alan, Well, I started the project by getting the rudder kit, which I completed, and the flaperons and slats, and tail, sub-kits, as I have never ever done anything like this before and was useless at woodwork and metalwork at school aeons ago, to see how I got on, not wanting to invest too much m...

HomeBuilt Help DVD's - Zenith CH750 - SOLD

I am selling my full set of DVD's from HomeBuilt Help for the CH750 STOL (not Cruzer), these are in my opinion a really good guide for this build - I found it very helpful to watch the videos a couple of times whilst looking at the build manual, before tackling a build task, and watched them again p...

Barry - thanks for that essential guidance. All of the above has been very helpful in formulating my ideas for later on. Cheers all.

Re: Building in France

Brian and Richard, Thanks so much for all that info. Richard, I may tap you for more advice later on. I'm hoping to take a completed project over with me, but if it's not completed then I may seek to complete it under French regs - but a lot is speculation at present until nearer the point when I ca...

Building in France

I wasn't sure which Forum section to put this in. We are planning to move to France in a few years time, so I guess I'll be joining the RSA then, but I was wondering if they use the same regime of inspection and permits in France as we do in the UK. My French isn't up to scratch yet to read their we...

RV9/9A Preview Plans set

I bought the preview plans set for the RV9/9A but decided against a project to build an RV, for various reasons, but the preview plans were very helpful in getting me up to speed with the build process for RV's. Loads of pages filling a lever arch-type binder, including reduced-size copies of the pl...

Re: What is a good workshop?

I rented a council garage to potentially use as my workshop, albeit with no light or power (I planned to run portable lighting from a car battery and use cordless tools for my FlyBaby project). The plan was to construct two 5ft x 3ft benches with a 3ft "bridge" between them, giving me options of 10f...

Re: Let's call it a succcess, shall we?

I agree, thoroughly well done all who made it a success.

I was very struck by the YES exhibits, full of admiration of all that the YES team are doing.

As far as I'm concerned this is a non-issue. I post on Flyer forums about general flying and non-aviation stuff. I post on here more rarely simply because I regard this as the correct place for more technical discussions about actual homebuilding topics. I wouldn't bother posting about non-technical...

Might be worth looking up Royal Berks Strut contacts on the strut noticeboard at white Waltham, as well as posting here? I'm afraid my build projects are too early-stage to be worth you visiting.

I've only glanced through it so far but it does look very useful and interesting, and timely as I'm just starting to make the metal fittings for my Bowers Flybaby project. However I like the balance of the magazine in terms of the range of articles between technical, reviews and so on. Nice work.

The Zenith CH750 has a wing-fold option, although the aircraft is not yet approved so the wing-fold option also isn't.
