Free - Evans AeroCool 180 Flush and Coolant

I have just over 2.5 litres of unused Evans AeroCool 180 flush and just over 2 litres of Evans AeroCool 180 coolant, available free to a good home.

Collect from Crowthorne, Berkshire, or I can post at cost.

Araldite 420 wanted

Hi all.

I need 30-40ml of Araldite 420 to do a repair on my Europa.

Unfortunately it only appears to be sold in 1.4-litre kits, for £100, with a 6-month shelf life!

Does anyone have some on the go that I might be able to nab? Happy to pay. If so, please get in touch.

James

Re: 912 dual tacho.

Hi Tom. This might work: http://www.tinytach.com

You simply wrap a wire around an HT lead and it picks up the signal from that - no sender. Very light, too.

Thanks Brian. I do like the look of it, but having to get approvals etc sounds like I might be in for a wait. For the purposes of getting the job done, I'll stick with a tried-and-tested process this time.

I had a Maplin one, then a B&Q one, and now I have a Dremel. I think the Dremel is definitely worth the extra money - easier to hold, less vibration, lighter, hasn't broken (yet...).

Just checked the videos out. Looks like great stuff - could probably convince the girlfriend to help if it's not gassing off VOCs!

Anyone selling this in the UK? Can't see a supplier.

I've requested a price on covering materials in Poly-Fibre. I had a go covering a wing in this at last year's rally and it looked like a nice system - goes solid as a rock, strong, pretty easy for an idiot like me to get a nice finish.

More to follow...

Thanks Colin. I got a sample pack from TLAC and had a play with it last night after a chat with another LAAer who used it to cover part of his VP1. It's dead easy to use. My only criticism is that it didn't seem to tighten-up as much as Ceconite does. It's also way more expensive - am just trying to...

Just got back from Sywell. Dodgy weather meant the Sunday was a bit quieter than last year, but still had a great time. As a brand new LAA member, last year I flew in and knew no-one. This year I realised how many new friends flying has brought me in the past 12 months. Was great. Things I liked: Gr...

Thanks Brian and Tony. Am going to the Rally. In fact was going to go help Nigel set up tomorrow, work permitting. I will check out this Oratex Escapade and see if I can find Terry.

Oratex?

Hi all. At last year's Rally I saw The Light Aircraft Company's Sherwood Ranger, which was covered with a material called Oratex. It looked good. I would like to re-cover my Avid Speedwing. I have ordered a sample pack of Oratex UL600 from TLAC and looks OK. Before I commit to a purchase, it would b...

Joe, Just an idea... go when the petrol station is busy, park as far away from the cashier as possible, open the filler on your car, then when they start the pump, open your boot and fill your cans. Or get mas much in there as you can before they stop the pump. One of the stations near me has always...

Propeller balancing - a £2.99 vibration meter

Those of you that have read the article on propeller balancing in the latest mag may be interested to know that there is an iPhone application (called, conveniently, 'Vibration') that can be used to measure the wobble in your prop. I've just tried it out sat on a gently humming external hard drive h...
