Fuselage Frame Fabric

Hello I'm about to re-cover the fuselage frame of my Tipsy Nipper. I've been advised to use Stits Poly-Fiber. Does anybody have any experience of this? I can only find one supplier, Aircraft Coverings Ltd. in Somerset. Has anybody had any dealings with them? Any advice would be very welcome as this ...

Tipsy Nipper Cowling

Hello

I'm replacing the VW engine in my Tipsy Nipper with a Jabiru engine. I'm looking for an engine mount and a cowling or mould. If anybody has one or the other, or both for sale, please get in touch.

VW Inverted Fuel and Oil System

Hello Does anybody have any experience of modifying a VW aero engine to run inverted? I'm looking into fitting inverted fuel and oil to my Tipsy Nipper. I'm planning to fit a Rotec carburettor and flop tube to sort out the fuel but I don't know much about modifiying the oil system. Any advice would ...

Propellor Bolt Torques

Hello I have a Tipsy Nipper with a 1835cc VW engine and Chris Lodge Propeller. The prop has taken some damage so I'm going to take it off and send it away for refurbishment. Does anybody know what the bolt torque settings should be, what the bolt tightening sequence is and where I might but a set of...

VW 1834 RPM increase with Carb Heat on.

I have a Tipsy Nipper with a VW1834 engine and Zenith Stromberg CD150 carburettor. I've been having some problems with the engine lately as follows: 1. Sudden application of throttle causes rough running and power loss (didn't used to). 2. Engine rpm (any setting) increases with application of carb ...

Clevis Pins

My Tipsy Nipper has just been through its permit and has had an 'advisery' to ream/drill out the control surface hinges and replace the 3/16" dia clevis pins with 5mm dia pins. Does anybody know where I might source some 5mm pins of an equivalent material to the originals? I've tried to look up the ...

Hello Mark I've just bought a set of Nipper plans from NK&C and I'm planning to start building a Nipper as soon as I can sort out the fuselage situation. NK&C is in the process of being sold and I've been assured that the new owners will be able to supply fuselages (presumably built to order). Would...
