Using Drones to Provide More Detail For Farm Strips
With all the bad press lately with regards to drones, I would like to give an example where drones have provided assistance with regards to reducing risk and providing more detail for approach-landing and TO plates for farm strips. I'm a fixed wing pilot of 25 years and also a commercial drone opera...

Avid Speedwing Fuel Tank
Any Avid or Kitfox owners out there who have replaced a wing tank, repaired one then sealed it with a propriety sealant or inserted ethanol resistant tanks within the original fibreglass tanks by cutting them open? Just want to find out what method was used, how easy/hard it was and where the items/...

I have the old national PPLA, is it better to change this to a JAR now so it will automatically change to an EASA PPLA or wait until the EASA is in place and change then to an EASA PPLA? Also if you fly on the new EASA when in place will the hrs from pe...

Prop Adjustment
Prop now adjusted. Turns out to be 19 degrees at 25.5" from centre line. Gives 6150 static at 22 air temp. This gave 800ft/min climb on warm day, 6mph head wind. Cruise settled down to 5000rpm at 70 mph with 20C air temp. EGTS all normal.

Prop Adjustment
Hi Rod, Prop has been approved by the LAA and certified for plane, spoke with my LAA local inspector about changing settings as the prop pitches were OK for very short field TO but not cruise when I got the plane. He recommended I talk through with another local LAA person who has knows about these ...

Prop Pitch Adjustment
Wonder if anyone can offer the best advice to set up a GSC 68" wooden 3 bladed prop with Rotax 582 on Avid Speedwing? I have tried it at 10 degrees, (no go at all) 13 degrees (little better) and now at 15 degrees. The performance still does not seem good at 15 degrees with climb rate of 500ft/min an...
