I see said the blind man....

Landing yesterday was difficult due to the low sun bang on line with the runway. This combined with a touch of muck on the screen made visibility rather poor to say the least. Now has anyone tried a washer system to spray on the screen? If so it needs to be non streak as we don't have wipers and non...

SIPA 903 SPARES

A friend of mine who is not computer savvy has a number of Sipa 903 Spares for sale from one he dismantled some years ago. He has a spare elevator, a full set of instruments, stick assemblies, rudder pedal assemblies, assorted control rods, an engine mount, and a set of oleos. Send me a PM if you ne...

DI for sale.

I have an early type gyro compass for sale as used in the Sipa 903 and the like. Last serviced in 2005 according to the stickers. Vacuum type and work fine on the bench. I can send pictures if you are interested. £85 plus postage but would prefer it was collected. It might withstand aerobatics but t...

Re: MIA

Well we've found the wings but not the canopy. Any sightings gratefully received but probably as likely as Lord Lucan!

Re: Inspection/access zips on fabric

All the ones I've seen come pre sewn onto a largish patch of ceconite ready to be fabric cemented onto the aircraft fabric as they accept that "Real Men" don't do sewing! Get the base fabric taught with an iron as usual and then attach the fabric and zip as you would a patch. 1 coat of glue and a re...

How much will they pay into the EEC? That's if they want to join of course. They've missed the boat with North Sea Oil...

Isn't this the one where you are liable for the upkeep of the church to the tune of £250,000 or has that been sorted?

Re: Farnborough Controlled Airspace

Looks like they've been talking to Southend! Like all things that are free everyone wants a big piece. Now if they had to pay for it then things would be different I think.

MIA

A friend of mine broke up a Sipa 903 many many years ago and got a friend to store some of the larger bits such as the canopy and the wings. Sadly he cannot remember 30 years later who this was . (Senior moments....) Has anyone seen the wings off G-ATVI parked against a hanger wall by any chance? If...

Re: Bush Plane Design

You might look at the Escapade Microlight as it's quite close to your requirements. Lots of good ideas there and used in the USA for all sorts of bush flying I gather. The wings will take 12 G for a start!

Re: magnetos on Currus engines

Give Tony Stairs a call on Tel: 0208 202 5194 He is the expert on these mags and will do a full rebuild for around £300. I had mine done this year and they were so nice I wanted to put them in a glass case rather than on my engine. Starting is now 1 tun of the crank and zero mag drop either side
