Hi Kevin Nice plane by the way, I take that's what your going in? When are you going? Our thoughts were to go via Belgium and Holland as I have a dislike of lots of very cold water! We thought about going via the Friesian islands (I think that's what the islands north of Holland are called) as each ...

Hmmm not much in the Feb mag. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Anybody would think the French don't want tourists! There's the Duxford/St Omer fly-ins, St Omer and RSA to visit this year but I've no intention of jumping through French hoops and paying 50 euros for the privilege. Tony Smith

Spreading our wings
Good evening All A friend and I thought it about time we spread our wings a little, so we've decided to fly to Denmark via Holland (been to Holland before). Anyone flown in/to Denmark? Looking for any gottchas and some good places or interesting airfields to visit. We'll be flying in a PA28R at the ...

Thanks for the replies peeps, gives me a lot to think about. Well actually confirmed what I already knew I should do and that's refurb IZ gradually. Unless of course the lottery comes good! Then I'll pay someone to do it! If she does go off line for a long period I'll be seeking out the D9 at Hinton...

Thanks for the replies, wasn't sure anyone was interested in my dilema! I have seriously considered doing a refurb of IZ but need to fly something in the mean time. If I could fly and refurb IZ it would be bliss as I really love flying my Jodel. I may have to join my old club again in order to keep ...

To build or not to build
Hello All Collective wisdom needed please. I currently own a Jodel D117 which I particularly enjoy flying. However she's an old girl and needs continual maintenance as everything is old and in decay. Downtime is inevitable with her so I want something new. The current account manager will not permit...

Took 9 months to get log in details after they lost my application, found it, duplicated it, erased both then got it right! Then the log in and password didn't work! However the help desk were extremely helpful and at 23.45! Have completed one flight plan to France and it wasn't easy but got there w...

I don't think it matters that they've been rebuilt several times. If you've got built by SAN (or whatever) in the log book then it's an ex factory built. I don't think the French will care one jot what your plane is (homebuilt or factory built) however if you go over without permission you've just g...

The latest from the LAA website is not very encouraging, especially as the Jodel fly out/in to St Omer is coming up. According to the web site it's going to take 3 months to sort out ....or you can pay 50 euros to get permission! I think the 50 euros might put a lot of people off, I won't be paying ...

I use at Mio Digi-walker with built in GPS, extendable aerial (never needed it). Excelent GPS pick up and you can see exactly where you are on your chart. Never had a problem with north up - I can read a map in any direction! I use memory map charts for UK and France. As said though there is a probl...

Hi Colin In my C90 in a Jodel D117, the oil temp has never been above 60 deg C in a climb in summer! It normally only just registers just above 40 after some time in flight. I thought I had a faulty temp sender as it's probably very old. I've just had the engine top end overhauled and the mags so I'...

Has anyone else been contacted by their local Plod? One came to our farm strip and asked to see in the hangar, took down the reg of our planes and left his card asking us to contact him. So I did out of curiosity. I haven't spoken to him yet but by e-mail he says he just wants an extra pair of eyes ...
