Re: License Question

Thank you Jeremy and Chris, Yes it seems so straight forward as we're in EASA but I was concerned given the vague response I received from the CAA. I don't like taking things for granted. Your answers concur with my inspector's thoughts though. It's an RV so no issue with type acceptance. Regards, M...

License Question

Hello, I've brought a permit aircraft in Portugal and need to get it home to then get it transferred to the LAA/G-reg. I've checked with my insurer and they can insure me on it for the positioning trip - my question is whether I can legally fly a foreign registered experimental aircraft on my EASA l...

Hello all - I'm looking for someone REALLY good with composites/fibreglass to do a modification on a fibreglass camera system casing. London area preferred but open to location. All replies much appreciated.

Hi ROD,

So the 6 year inspection is not mandatory? Does that just apply to C of A aircraft?

Kind regards,

Mona

CS Prop Overhaul Requirements

Hello all,

Viewed an RV7 today that's for sale. It has a Hartzell CS prop that is 6 years old. I thought that CS props had to be overhauled at 6 years, is this still mandatory on a permit aircraft? The seller says it only requires a corrosion inspection. Any advice very much appreciated.

Hi Graham,

Thank you for the reply. The metal is magnetic which points to camshaft. Engine has done 1350 hours, 350 since top overhaul including new camshaft. The seller isn't interested in running it on new oil and filter for 10 hours before another cut. Walk away?

Metal in oil filter

Hello all, I'm a newly signed up member of the LAA following my conversion from helis to fixed wing and the search for an RV7. I recently found what I was hoping to be the perfect aircraft, until last Tuesday when I had it inspected. The airframe is very well built and a credit to the builder. The e...
