Re: Red Tape Challenge
Get them to deal with the orphan aircraft issue, re Bolkows, Fourneirs and the like. Insisting that aircraft stay on a C of A is pointless. Also, the gyro permit issue has not been resolved, despite the announcement of acceptance of factory gyros. It has only been partially resolved and needs further...

The theme of the fly-in is "fly a gal", ie, bring a woman or girl flying, especially if she has not flown before.Grub, chat, aeroplanes, etc, etc ...

magnetos on Currus engines
Hi all,
What model of magnetos is fitted to the Cirrus Minor? I believe that they are BTH manufacture, but what subtype? Anyone got a lead to a manual for them? They're fitted to an Auster V J1.

Mick

Zenith toe brake geometry
Hi all
I have flown two Zenith 601HDs and both have awkward toe brake geometry. Does anyone know of any mods to alleviate this?

Re: 8.33hz radios
Hi all,
In the recent Pilot magazine, an Icom product review, written by one PW, mentioned firmware downloads to convert from 25khz spacing to 8.33. can anyone add to this or show a link to information about firmware downloading for Icom models.

Mick

Re: Are we a bunch of Old Farts?
I saw Brian Hope at AeroExpo, Sywell and he was "normally" turned out, ie, not polished to the hilt but comfy enough, I'd say. In fact, the tribe of spotters at the rail looked considerably scruffier than he.

Re: seat belts for a jodel 112
Thanks, Mike
I had considered a car-type but I wanted to see what "official" belt type was fitted to Jodels. I'll get a car set.

Re: Are we a bunch of Old Farts?
One thing I absolutely love about messing about with small aeroplanes is the complete informality of it all and the more of it I get, the better I like it. I don't care if a guy looks like a wino if he is a good man with a spanner or can precisely sideslip a Jodel into a grassy field. if we need to ...

seat belts for a jodel 112
Hi all,
Can anyone suggest a suitable type/model/brand of seat belt for a D 112, that has an automotive inertial reel. The whole assembly is a car-type, lap and shoulder strap set-up.

Re: 8.33hz radios
Hi all, I stand to be corrected but why, if this is a compulsory requirement of Europe, is it not being subsidised by Europe? As an airline person, I know that the cost of retrofitting airliners and CAT for 8.33 will simply be borne as a cost to be offloaded onto the passengers in the long run or as...
