Dave, Talsarnau is of interest as its on the train line round to Criccieth, would you have any details?
The land is very flat in the Porthmadoc reclaimed land area, there must be someone flying from there.
Thanks for replying

Portmadoc Strip ?
I heard someone on the radio the other day (didnt catch the call sign) saying their destination was a strip at Porthmadoc, does anyone know where it is or have a contact for it? I have seen paramotors near there. Still looking for somewhere to occasionally land near Criccieth (Black Rocksands would ...

interesting calcs, isnt the angle normally measured at 75% of radius though? I wonder how that relates. I have a three blade Arplast ecoprop 170 prop on my C42 but it doesnt seem optimal as I have loads of takeoff and ear poping climb but its speed is maybe a tad low on 912 100hp. I have tried to fi...

Thanks for the advice, the antenna I have is a combined VHF, GPS, GPRS car like thing, I wonder if its designed to receive only. I have taken it to bits to make sure I am connected to the right port (just three wires coming out) and I am. Its like a carbon rod whip about 400 long, not long enough fo...

Range of an ICOM A3E
What range should I expect from an ICOM A3E handheld with an external antenna in my C42? would it be much worse than a built in NAVCOM unit? I cant get Farnborough LARs from much more than 15 nm at 2000ft, or London Information from the south coast or Lille from mid channel. Maybe I should change th...

For sale Transponder low loss cable Aircell 5
I had to buy a reel of low loss AIRCELL 5 coax cable from Germany as recommended for TRT800 transponders, I shall only use a few meters, is anybody else looking for the same?
0.32db per meter at Transponder frequencies (1GHz). light and flexible.

Are you flying to places of work ?
Working for my own company in a consultancy role I am very fortunate to be able to fly to different places of work from time to time, when the 'ducks are in a row'. I wobble off on a fold up bike the other end. I have done it for years in a group owned plane but now I have my own plane I have scope ...

Flying with a missing panel
Due to funny click type poppers not being properly home I lost a 550 x450 GRP luggage/inspection panel on the side of my C42 the other day just after take off over fields thankfully. Also thankfully it didn't do any damage on the way past the rest of the planel. Amazingly, Will, the very pleasant an...

Thanks very much Brian, I have given them a call and it all sounds ok, we will give that a try on either 20th June or 27th. It looks like the town is close enough to wander into. I tried to get an email address off them but I couldn't understand what was being said! I spoke to a 'Gilbere Manell' who...

Radar Image and LARs
Silly question maybe; having moved from a girt metal plane with transponder to a GRP/fabric/pole C42, and having been used to using LARs services - west of Heathrow using Farnborogh for example. I presume its going to be hard for them get any significant radar returns from me to know where I am. I w...
