Re: Farnborough Controlled Airspace

Oops,,,,,,,,,looks like my brilliant tact and diplomacy skills have got me into hot water again . Sorry mate , I guess that did come across as a tad flippant , although I can reassure everyone that I have been as pro-active as anyone else in objecting to all the airfield closures and airspace steali...

Re: Farnborough Controlled Airspace

Andrew raises a valid point in his post. Most of us are sick up to the back teeth of these regional airfields with negligible traffic volumes trying to up their profiles by making unrealistic and unjustifiable claims to airspace which they think they're entitled to. Many of us have made representati...

Re: Evans VP owners

Bit of a disappointing response there Lee . I know that there are a few VP'ers that skulk around on here , and I'm also aware that the exchanges that we have had pertain mostly to my 1834cc with electronic ignition , so a little feedback from guys with 1600cc and magnetos would be most welcome. Perh...

Re: If Scotland votes for separation?

They do say that the devil makes work for idle hands don't they ? Why are we all sitting here making posts about politics ! Were aviators ,, brothers of the sky , and above all that aren't we ? I think it's just a by-product of the atrocious, depressing weather that we're all being subjected to at t...

Re: If Scotland votes for separation?

Bob,,,,...You're a very naughty boy. It appears that you haven't cancelled your subscription to the Flat Earth Society yet have you ? Come on,,,,be honest ! Voting for "independence" and actually getting it are about 2 million miles apart [ thankfully ]. And if it ever did come to fruition [ which i...

Colin,,,whatever they vote for, and whatever the outcome, believe me mate, your permit will still be issued by the LAA .

Cancel your subscription to the Flat Earth Society now .

Re: LAA Website

Paul,,,, I know it's the season of goodwill and all that. But tell us all , what excites you most , aeroplanes or computers ? ? ? You've been given a bit of a mauling on what is normally a fairly genteel forum . Which is something of a barometer of the slightly prattish remarks in your initial posti...

Re: LAA Website

Sorry, but this thread is just rubbish , and a downright insult to the folk who work tirelessly to retain our hobby as the pleasurable activity that it is . The original poster appears to have a lot more specialist knowledge in IT and website design than he has in aeronautical matters , and is clear...

Re: Specialist tools - a query

Yes , Torq-Seal isn't the sort of stuff that you would get from Robert Dyas . Although it is only a tell-tale , tamper-proof putty type thing , and a judicious dob of red paint will do exactly the same thing.

But if your Inspector does insist on the pukka stuff , PM me .

Re: Specialist tools - a query

Richard , is it a swaging tool for control cables ? If so then going for the large bench mounted swage tool is quite an expensive option . The hand-held swagers for about 15 quid do the same thing , and produce a swage of the same quality as the big expensive jobs . [ don't let me override anything ...

Fantastic.

Do you reckon that it was the pressure to bear , brought about by this forum that forced the issue.

Re: Goodwood LAA Fly-in

Ian , you must pay more attention to these flying matters old boy. It was in the 'Where to Go' section of last months LA mag , and I would have been there myself in G-EVPI had I been able to take time away from those bloody Boeings and Airbuses . And the post on that other forum seemed to allude to ...

Anonymity on the Forum

Sorry... That's just a cheap trick to grab your attention. I speak not of anonymity on here , but of a crime far worse . Anonymity in LA's letters page [ isn't that a hanging offence]. Is it only me, or was the lead-letter in October's LA slightly bizarre. And why would anyone fear "reprisals" for s...
