Re: Kitfox 3 Windscreen

I’m afraid I have no moulded parts, but would you not just make a new Lexan one? It is not the worst job I’ve ever done and I am a ham-fisted idiot when it comes to aircraft maintenance.

Re: PA 22

It's impossible to keep a PA-22 North of the Border as there are now no full-time licensed engineers with it on their ticket. We had to fly ours South for it's last annual before we reluctantly sold it, and like Des I would have one in a heartbeat if I could get it on a permit. If only there were ac...

Lawrence - I'm afraid I really don't know. I've been informed that aircraft that started on BMAA permits can't be converted at all so I think it might be something to do with that. However, I'm hoping that someone more knowledgeable than I can give you a definitive answer.

I'm not sure that's the only business model that works. Take your Thatcher, for example: Thatcher has sold to date 454 sets of plans @ $360 apiece = $163,440. That's really not bad -- he could have afforded a stress engineer out of that! :D Even with the volumes that the Thatcher designs have sold,...

Piper dropping the PiperSport

Piper have announced that they're ending their relationship with Czech Sport Aircraft http://www.piper.com/pages/PipertoTermi ... 122011.cfm

I wonder if this means that it will become available as a kit again?

Thanks Nigel, I'll contact the Shadow Centre. There is a Star Streak for sale on AFORS at the moment with a Jabiru 2200 in it! Impressive machine, but £14,995 is over my budget alas.

Thanks for the pointers, the TAD is useful (I'm getting an 403 Forbidden message when I try and see the Star Streak TAD though). I think I'm missing something fundamental though. The TAD shows the conditions for a shadow to be classed as a Microlight, however what I don't understand is if Streak Sha...

CFM Shadow question

Apologies if this is a really dumb question, I'm new to the whole area of being able to change anything to do with aircraft :D I'm trying to find out what the difference between Microlight and Group A Shadows is. I know that the Streak Shadow seems to exist in both incarnations and I was wondering i...

I only joined in November and I've got no idea what I was expecting, but the December issue was one of the best flying mags I've ever read. Worth joining for.
