Accepted Types List
Can anyone tell me where I can find the accepted types list on the website please? I've tried looking everywhere I can think of and multiple searches but cannot find it. There is a reference to a link on the "building aircraft" page but no link to the list. I'd also like to find out about things lik...

Permit overflight in Italy
Does anyone have contact details for the Italian ENAC that I need to contact to get overflight permission in Italy for my Jodel D120 (not covered by ECAC as it's an orphaned factory built plane)? I can't find anything on their website that doesn't relate to airlines. I did find an AIC entry that sai...

Instrument Repairs
Does anyone know where I can get an old RCAllen Electric DI fixed?
I sent it to Aircraft Instruments Ltd in April and it came back after 4 months with the original problem fixed but otherwise U/S. I'd like to see if anyone else can fix it before shelling out for a replacement.

"I don't think you included beautiful in your original specifications, did you? " you're right, I didn't but now that I come to think about it, a bit of olde worlde charm is probably part of the spec. There are a couple of Jodels advertised at the moment that I'll be making equiries about over the w...

Any one got any thoughts on a Rans s7 - looks like a neat machine, decent performance and one has come up for sale in the mag? I like to look of a Jodel 117 or 120, but want to keep options open and this would get in to the strip I have in mind with no problem. Not quite the range or load carrying a...

OK, so clearly some differences of opinion on short field ops. Given that I have no tailwheel experience (soon to be rectified, but that will just give me licence to learn) and 30ft trees on approach in one direction, clear on the other but then I'd have to take off over the trees with a 300m ground...

Sounds like the concensus is a Jodel D120A, D120 or 117 are also highly rated, but marginal on 300m (approach in one direction on the winter runway is over trees). I have to admit that I'd not seriously considered the Rans as it looks rather less robust than I'm used to but I'll look into it further...

Low cost strip plane - what would you recommend?
Hi I'm looking for some advice as follows.... I'd like to buy a Group A permit plane to operate from a 300m grass strip. The strip is considerably longer but part becomes unusable during winter and I'd like to fly year round. It's not the smoothest of strips either so prop-clearance is a considerati...
