Re: Somewhere to build Jabiru J430

Hi David Sorry for slow reply, I don't visit here very often.... What you're looking for is pretty sparse around Woking other than the obvious candidates. People with strips tend to keep them very quiet, it's amazing how many you notice just flying around! I currently fly at Popham, but any hangarag...

Somewhere to build Jabiru J430

I'm currently 85 pages into the build, but it's stalled, mainly because I need more space. A small industrial unit/large garage/hangar would work. Happy to share.
I'm in Hindhead, SW Surrey, within 5 miles would be good.

Re: What is a good workshop?

I'm being a bit cheeky to post in this thread, but it seems appropriate! I'm 85 pages into a J430 build, but have stalled a bit, as I simply haven't got the space in our small garage to move around easily, any job needs stuff to be moved so I can work. What I'm after is a small industrial unit/hanga...

This is reminiscent of the response by the authorities in the USA after 9-11. For those who aren't familiar Boston Logan Airport, where the whole thing kicked off, is pretty much surrounded by water on which fishermen earn a living. After 9-11 the kneejerk reaction was to ban anyone from the water a...

Well worth having a look at Skydemon, you can plan properly then transfer to a GPS.

This appears to be a fantastic and long overdue initiative by NATS, however what will probably happen is that it will become "self financing" as if anyone has an infringement, they will be able to say that there is a cheap piece of kit available, there is therefore no excuse and a massive fine shoul...

It would be worth having a look at SkyAngel http://fly.styli.sh/ which is free at the moment and looks superb, or at pocketFMS which I've run on a 747 with a £89.99 Navman car sat nav.

Agreed but to get a full moving map display and planning software in the flight deck for c£200 it's not bad!!
The way to go would prob be a touch sensitive Atom powered tablet running Windows 7.

Not free (€150 per year) but very good is Pocket FMS which will run on any device running Windows CE which includes many car GPS but not Garmin or TomTom.

These are the VORs that have so succesfully prevented airspace incursions for many years? :D GPS is a fact of life now and offers a massive improvement in navigation accuracy. I have used Pocket FMS running on a cheap Navman car GPS and it offers fantastic capability for very low outlay and running ...

The GPS is not the problem, what is is the database. If you are going to check against a chart, it would have to be made by a different manufacturer from the GPS database provider. In Airmaps case the database is produced by Jeppesen, and the way charts are produced these days any errors in one woul...

I want a cheap to fly permit aircraft that I can tour with my wife around Europe. It must lift at least 300kilo with fuel and be easy to fly. It must fit people 2 meters high. My PA28 can do it why can't any permit aircraft?
How about the Jabiru 230/430?
