Re: Engineering website issues
Me too David, for all aircraft types. I suspect it comes under the category of a minor cock up because it used to work ok. BTW, in the meantime all Auster SB’s are available on the Auster Club website if you need them. Jon

Re: Unable to renew membership online
Mine just gets done by direct debit. Never have to think about it - it just works. Done that for years and years.

Re: Grey Aviation
Yes, but who's going to organise all that great sounding stuff? Are you? Not just volunteer for an hour or so but organise it. There's hundreds of hours of effort, toil, sweat and tears there mentioned in a short posting! I don't have the time to volunteer for anything, not until I retire anyway, th...

Re: LAA Rally 2016 - Thanks
Beautiful pictures Simon, thank you for sharing them. I agree entirely with your sentiments about the rally, it's my favourite event and at this time of year now it seems a depressingly long time until the next one....!

Re: Aviator hotel Sywell / Rally
Many thanks for the replies - Brian for the LAA position and Graham C for your kind offer (Graham, I've sent you a PM). Update - following my response to the hotel, eleven days later I received a single-line e-mail requesting my card details so that my deposit could be refunded....! End of....! No f...

Re: Aviator hotel Sywell / Rally
Thanks for that Jono, I feel the same! Eventually had a short reply from my initial polite approach, stating it's in the small print (of course) and they've "met their conditions". On Monday morning I sent a further, somewhat more "robust" response to their unethical stance expressing my extreme dis...

Aviator hotel Sywell / Rally
Having flown to the rally a fair few times over the years we always fancied staying over at the the Aviator - not with much hope - it's always well booked in advance of course - and the LAA staff (rightly so) take quite a few rooms. This year however, success - in January we got a cancellation which...

I think the principle is like teaching a child that they should wash their hands after going to the toilet; they know they should - but don't always do so.....!

Hi Chris M, don't know if this is relevant to you (your insulating tape mod is probably the simplest) and I'm not an expert at all but I'm pretty sure that if you use the PTT on the wireless itself then the built in mic is still live, even if you are using a headset adaptor thus all the cockpit nois...

Re: rotax cold start problems
Hi, there's many "individual personal techniques" floating around for cold starting. One which I have tried and (touchwood) seems to improves things is this: It seems you don't want it to fire too early so get the starter spinning well before it is 'allowed' to fire: -run the electric pump for a few...

Re: Mogas
As far as I am aware, NO! I think the CAA's announcement meant that they no longer object to the use of ethanol laced fuel in principle as long as 1/ your aircraft manufacturer, 2/ your engine manufacturer and 3/ your aircraft regulatory body (the LAA) don't mind either. As far as I am aware the LAA...

Great rally again. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Flew in Fri & Sun. Worth every penny. My heartfelt thanks to EVERYONE involved in the running of the event for us all to enjoy.
