I in fact found that it was the glass that had a heavy brown staining on the inside. Cleaned up and re-filled it looks like new. Thanks.

Thanks. I was concerned that the markings need repainting and not sure what paint would tolerate being immersed in the fluid.

I have a panel mount Airpath compass which has got very brown staining of the markings making it difficult to read in certain light conditions. Can anyone point me to someone who could refresh this ? I thought it might be the fluid but it is totally clear. Thanks for any advice.

That seems to be very close to the one on Taylor Monoplane G-BEVS. That one is marked NP54-15B and I think I am right in saying that the 54 is diameter in inches and the 15 is the angle of the blade at 75% radius. For VS it is given as 34" pitch, yours appears slightly finer. The "B" on VS refers to...
