Re: Experimental in the UK
I have a couple of observations and an aside to this. I can't see anything in the above quotes that means the LAA would be obliged to change how they currently oversee the design and testing of LAA types. But I'll caveat that with 'fessing up that I haven't read the documents thoroughly yet. Secondl...

Re: New member
Welcome, Alex.
Good to see the new membership joining in on this rather quiet forum.
I'd agree with Ian and Nick, designing your own aircraft is a huge undertaking, but if you want to do it then go for it. The Tools and Methods one day conference Ian linked to is a must. Hope to see you there.

Re: Jodel detained at Plymouth
Surely it behoves all of us to now bite our tongues until we know that the Jodel is recovered at which point if we have a view to express we can do so individually without reference or claiming to represent any wider interest. This is someones pride and joy at stake here. I, for one, wouldn't want a...

Isaacs Fury build experience
Does anyone here have experience of building an Isaacs Fury from outset to completion? I'm interested in hearing how the experience was - was it a hassle building to standard plans (and what do those include, current mods like Rotax and tailwheel as opposed to skid?) How long did it take and what wa...

Re: History Channel
Thanks, Colin. Other than remembering it was Russian, I haven't a clue what it was. It just came up on Google.
No idea what some obscure Russian aircraft is doing on a program about the ATA, though.

I've always had a big watch.
The tash might have helped, I suppose, but first indication was her reading out 'Light Aircraft Association... Are you some kind of pilot?'

A good news item and a thanks. Having had cause to rent a car for a few days I noticed how much you save on standard rates by clicking through the link on Member Benefits. What an excellent offer this is. Once again this year, my LAA membership has paid for its self, and I got an admiring smile from...

Wouldn't happen to be the Wyvern prototype (or early model), would it?

Given I've mainly been doing local flying I've not really checked the differences in the latest chart over the previous. Does it still have two Husband Bosworths?

Re: Recommendations for Headsets
The Zulu PFX will be out at the end of this month. I would expect it to be priced similarly to the Bose A20's, but will reportedly have better ANR. I also find the Lightspeeds to be more comfortable.

I feel very remiss that I haven't put my name forward formally...
If I can do so here and now please take this posting as my statement of interest. I'm just re-reading the article to glean the relevant email addresses and will be in contact that way too.

Re: BWPA Seminar at White Waltham, March 8th 2014
Not sure there's a need for one, is there? If you feel like you need a platform for discussing issues pertaining to male pilots you could petition BWPA for a mens' fringe interest group at the meeting...
