FUEL

Hi, Given the virtual unavailability of UL91, and thinking about the Rotax engine in particular, is there any benefit in adding, say, 10-20% of 100LL Avgas to Mogas to overcome some of the known disadvantages of Mogas without triggering the additional oil changes necessary if one exceeds 30% 100LL? ...

Re: Builders liability

Having read these posts with interest, is there a form of words one should use on the sales receipt when selling an amateur built aircraft?

Re: Flying in Germany and Austria with permit aircraft

On my LAA Operating Limitations Certificate under "Constructor and Constructor's Designation of Aircraft" it has my name and the aircraft type. That makes it quite clear that I constructed the aircraft. This is also quite clear on the Permit to Fly. So you could just go and if questioned show them t...

UL91 availability

Hi, Yet again it is becoming nigh well impossible to uplift UL91 anywhere in UK (unless you know differently). Is there anyway that the LAA could bring pressure to bear on the fuel industry to refine it in UK? Presently it comes by road tanker from Poland (costly)and post-brexit apparently it's diff...

LAA amateur built aircraft flying to France post Brexit

It would appear that as of 1st Jan 2021 the agreement with the French Government (covered in T.L 2.08) will no longer apply. The French only apply the ECAC agreement to aircraft from the EEA, and we are withdrawing from that as well as the EU. Is anything being done to resolve this? I guess we will ...

Re: CAA Announcement on 600kg Microlights – LAA comment.

I am, to say the least, a little confused by these proposed changes to the regulations. I own a EuroFOX, home built under LAA auspices at 560kg mauw. This aircraft is also available UK fully assembled as a microlight at 450kg, and presumably, up to 560 or 600kg when the legislation is changed. At th...

LAA Eurofox to NZ

Hi ,
I am very surprised that there has been no comment on here of the superb effort by Chris Pote and his small team who have flown an LAA EuroFOX to New Zealand, arriving last week. They left mid October.

Re: Snap vent vs vista vent

Sorry for slow reply.
I used the ones which came with the EuroFOX kit - they appear to be Snapvents or similar.

Re: Snap vent vs vista vent

Hi, When I had to cut holes for vents in Perspex for my EuroFOX doors, I used one of the adjustable hole cutters available from B&Q very successfully. It's the sort with a centre spindle and an adjustable L-shape bar with cutter (about £4). I used a VERY slow battery drill to power it. Did 2 aircraf...

Re: Southend Controlled Airspace

I throw this idea in to see what response I get. How about any airfield that wants more controlled airspace /RMZ being granted it on condition they offer unrestricted access to GA with a max landing fee of £15,say ,for under 2 tonnes and no handling fees unless handling required. This would a) cause...
