If we consider that an aircraft is a vehicle, then day trips could be permitted from tomorrow?

Insurance during lockdown

Under lockdown, whether one grounds their aircraft, or flies once-a-month for engine health, risk exposure is considerably reduced; negligible in some cases. Has anyone had a sympathetic experience with their insurers in the current Covid 'crisis'? Our insurer (LAA-approved) is not offering any redu...

Re: Using Drones to Provide More Detail For Farm Strips

Simon, apologies for the thread drift, but as a professional drone operator you're probably the guy to ask. Is there any possibility that Amazon et al will be allowed to operate drones to deliver their products to customers? Restricted drone corridors branching out from their warehouses, countrywide...

Re: REVISED SELF-DECLARED MEDICAL FORM ISSUED BY CAA

In the small print: Geographical Limitations This declaration is not recognised internationally as an International Civil Aviation Organisation medical certificate. You may not use it to fly outside of the UK, unless you have obtained advance permission from the relevant aviation authority of the co...

Re: Tracey Curtis-Taylor

What is it that motivates one person on each of the main UK Aviation Forums to rant ad nauseam on a daily basis about TCT?

Nothing else to do with their lives? Are they actually pilots? Do they have a home life? Do the three of them meet weekly to plot more of the same?

I'm genuinely baffled.

Flying a permit a/c to Spain and Portugal

The procedure for getting permission to fly a permit a/c to both Spain and Portugal from the UK is fairly clear (see http://goo.gl/bNvUVr )

Has anyone experienced delay in extracting replies from the relevant authorities in Spain and Portugal? Or is it a routine procedure?

Thanks.

Re: Aircraft Insurance

Not clear how it's meant to deal with groups: Age - oldest member? PIC experience and hours on type - member with lowest hours? Betterment - yes/no would be useful. Interpreted in different ways by brokers in my experience. I'm finding several 'traditional' brokers have reduced their premiums dramat...

Re: Tracey Curtis-Taylor

It might be worth reading the recent statement on her own website: I, and the Bird in a Biplane Team believe it is helpful to respond to some commentary appearing in the press about whether the flight expeditions undertaken in 2013-2016 were flown solo or in company. For the avoidance of doubt, I ha...

Re: Maps

I agree, but I tend to plan my SD route, print it out on paper, then I've got it on my iPad, back-up is the hard copy and an iPhone.

As I said, just curious.
