I too have been effectively grounded my Mr Slaters comments.
Permit work done safely.
Inspection done safely.
Not allowed to do test flight, so LAA will require another inspection as they are insisting on 28 day max between inspection/test flight and application.
Fair??????

John

Re: After the Rally
Enjoyed the rally very much. +1 thanks to the marshallers, they (as always) did a brilliant job. Also atc, as I nearly always have a problem with the x-wind on departure. I did get shouted at for walking across the apron , "read you safety leaflet" he bellowed - shame I didn`t have one as I had just...

John

Gipsy Major 1 TNS`S
Anyone know where I can get a set of TNS`S for a Gipsy Major 1, apart from going to Deltair with £400?

Re: Clutton FRED running costs?
Good to see discussion on simple flying for fun aeroplanes, particularly VW powered. I`m an old dinosaur - rows of very expensive RV`s do less for me than a well flown and loved Mono,VP1,Luton,Fred,Wot,Turb,D9 etc. I was involved in the Fenland strut Flying Group. There was a need in the strut for s...

Hi Guys,
Or have a (non-specific time) reserve list.
So you have to be on that list, so will have ticked the box, then call the tower for any available slots.
Best,
John

You could always divide aeroplanes into 3 groups.
Homebuilts
Permit
Factory built
Then give priority in that order

Thanks Gavin,
May I ask what shore hardness you went for.
Some old rubber discs I have are about shore 70 but are not original manufacturers spec.

Re: undercarriage compression rubbers
Thanks for the input chaps.
A few good ideas to follow up.
It`s very easy to beaver away for years in the "shed" inventing lots of wheels as you go.

Re: undercarriage compression rubbers
have you tried the Moth club for information - under 'Service register' Unfortunately it doesn`t seem to be that simple. Some compression rubbers have been made (for moths) that are not of the required hardness. Just thought it was worth asking guys who operate types with similar u/c and a/c weight...

undercarriage compression rubbers
Hi, Can anyone help? I`m rebuilding a moth minor and like many types it has compression rubbers in the sliding tube legs. Where do Jodel, condor owners etc get replacement compression rubbers made. I have the drawing (although the spec of rubber is from 1938!) and original samples. Prepared to get a...

Re: PFA/LAA Magazines
Hi Brian/Ian, It would seem that Ian Law has all the mags that I have and those going back further. I was fortunate in learning to fly at Fairoaks, where I picked up a PFA mag late 1972 (just after my first solo). In it was an ad for Tipsy Nipper plans, also the address of the PFA was in Horsell (ju...

Re: PFA/LAA Magazines
Hi Richard,
If you are still short of a few mags I`ll venture into the loft.
Have most from 1972 on.
