Re: funke TRT800H and SW v5.2 for ADS-B
Dave, I think I know someone who has done this and I am fairly sure he is on V5.2. He has connected PAW as his GPS source and his flights are visible on FR24. The only thing is the groundspeed displayed by FR24 is all over the place and may be because the software needs upgrading to 5.3, but I am no...

Re: Removing Old Contact Adhesive from Fabric / Ceconite?
I had this issue a few years ago when I wanted to remove glue (removed upholstry panel inside cabin).
I found an AVGAS soaked rag worked very well.
It slowly softens the glue and eventually dissolves it away.

Re: Intercom Audio Input
Jon, I haven't done it before, but do you know if your current wiring and connector has the pin for the ext audio input? D type connectors are very common and your connector may already have the pin ready for you to connect your wire to. Looking at the manual it looks like you simply solder a wire t...

Re: removing paint from aluminium
Depends what type of paint you are trying to remove. Most two pack paint can't (easily) be removed except by mechanical means. If the paint is cellulose (or similar) then use professional paint stripper that contains methylene chloride. It is still available if you are a "professional/industrial" us...

Thanks

Re: Taylor Mono, Constant nose up attitude
Hi Mark,
The first thing I would do is conduct a new weight and balance check. It wouldn't be the first time that errors have crept into the calculations for whatever reason.
When you know exactly what your aircraft weighs and where the C of G is then you can start looking at other things.

How to make new spats
I have two fibre glass spats on my Piper Vagabond but they are very heavy. They weigh 8 lb each. I want to make new lightweight replacements and can use my existing spats for mould purposes. I have no experience regarding modern composites and what would be the best materials to use. I suspect that ...

Re: Sealant for fuel system pipe fittings
Bill, You are probably thinking of a different Loctite product: Quote (from manufacturer's website): "Thick acrylic dimethacrylate ester lubricating thread sealant paste which prevents galling on pipe threads and fittings. LOCTITE® 592 is an opaque, off-white, thick acrylic dimethacrylate ester lubr...

Re: ALL MEMBERS ! Please fill out those proxy forms..!!
Food for thought: If you read what Harry Hopkins wrote (on here) he says: (extract of post): "Ms Curtis-Taylor did not, repeat not, solicit this award and neither did any one solicit it on her behalf: it was entirely our idea. No other nomination for the award had been received or mooted; hence no o...

Re: ALL MEMBERS ! Please fill out those proxy forms..!!
I know we have to embrace modern technology, but would we be in this messy situation if this had all occured in 1980 before e-mail, web forums and the like existed (in any significance)? I doubt it. The award would have been decided upon, made, and, probably, most folks would only have known about i...

Re: Help with radio installation required
David,
I am too far away to provide any hands-on assistance, but do you have any particular issues?
Radios are usually quite easy to install.
