Re: Keeping Current

Has the LAA considered any process for temporarily extending permit validity? My permit expires on 1st May and although I can do my routine permit work without getting close to anyone else in the hangar I wonder about my inspector having to travel to inspect and sign off etc. Also any plans to make ...

Re: PilotAware Article in October 2019

I presume the LAA could send an e-mail to all members asking what EC device, if any, they have fitted and is operational.

Re: National Coach change

Hi Chris,

Happy New Year and welcome to your new role!

They were referring to the thread title spelling error "Natonal" vice "National"......

Spend a few weeks monitoring a certain popular GA forum (red top banner....) and you will soon become very fluent with the new on-line lingo!

Regards

Re: 2-reg aircraft (Guernsey)

I would suggest you write to LAA Engineering to get their advice on this.
I presume you are going to base the aircraft on Guernsey so, firstly, I would have thought it would be good to know if there are any LAA inspectors on the island.

Re: Wiring up headset jacks

First tip is you will need a large tipped soldering iron if you plan on soldering wires onto regular US style phone and mic jacks.

The LAA run aircraft wiring courses which may help you. Not sure when the next one is scheduled.

Anything specific you are planning on doing?

If not on Bob's list, please add the fact that one cannot delete old private messages from the Inbox or Sent items. Has been like this now for a year or more.

Thanks

Re: Future of the Forum

Brian,

I get an e-mail notification sent to my regular mail system if someone posts a "personal message" for me on the forum. Is that not working for you?

Re: Piper Cub Brake hose wanted

I believe Saywell International, Worthing, West Sussex, can make up brake hoses using the original fittings:

Alternatively, Hampshire Hose did something similar for me a few years ago:

Dave,

I think Brian Hope can probably advise on how to set up a sub-forum. He does check this forum quite often.

Re: Future of the Forum

Bob,

What browser are you using? If you are using Internet Explorer try using a different one like Chrome or Edge.
I see lots of different results in how things are displayed when switching between browsers.

Re: Editing LAA Forms

Most home PCs come with Adobe reader only which means you can open PDF files but not write to them. At work we have Adobe Acrobat DC which allow forms to be completed and saved but you have to buy that particular version (unlikely to be cheap...). I have often wondered why the LAA forms aren't in MS...

E2-A/B compass

Does anyone have an adjuster tool for the E2-A/B compass? It needs to have a female trangular "socket" end. Also, anyone have instructions for adjusting this compass?

Thanks
