Unije Airfield, Croatia

I am about to fly back to wonderful Croatia and would love to visit this airfield, which appeared in the March copy of our magazine. Does anyone have any information about ownership or PPR, please?

Advance information requirements for international flights Government consultation

Our association kindly flagged the above by email. As a fairly frequent crosser of borders in my Bristell, I would be very interested to hear other members views. As far as I can see, wading through the treacle of the consultation, nothing much has changed BUT I am certainly missing something. Here'...

Re: Flying in Germany and Austria with permit aircraft

Hi David, Thanks for your warning. Good news is that according to this from ENAC, in Italian, ECAC signatory Permit aircraft are allowed into Italian airspace without limit or further permissions required. See section 5: https://www.enac.gov.it/repository/ContentManagement/information/P1558028314/Ci...

Re: Flying in Germany and Austria with permit aircraft

Hi All, I found David's comments extremely useful, thanks. I followed up on ECAC Recommendation on home-built aircraft - 1980 (INT.S/11-1) and came to the following; https://www.ecac-ceac.org/activities/safety/ecac-recommendations-on-home-built-1980-and-historical-2016-aircraft This in turn contains...

Flying in Italy on LAPL

Last year, I asked if anyone had any updates on flying in Europe on a LAPL, following the good news about France. I received no replies but if you don't ask...anyone flying in Italy on a LAPL or have any info as to whether they follow the same rules as the French?

Flying in Europe on National Licence

As those interested in the topic will recall, there was a lot of useful information shared over the last 18 months or so on this forum, most notably the welcome news of the French loophole, allowing UK national licence holders to fly Permit aircraft in French airspace. As I understand, this was enab...

Re: Problems with SkyEcho 2

Mike Tetlow from Uavionix UK helpfully called in response to my request for help on their site. He showed me how to re-set the SE2 by pushing and holding the start button for 20 seconds until all three lights flash white. We then went to the landing page on the internet and checked I am running the ...

Problems with SkyEcho 2

I operate SE2 with my Ipad mounted SkyDemon. The latter regularly reports "Device Offline" with a seconds count down. This is sometimes terminal i.e. it does not self fix in under 2 minutes and I have to re-cycle the lot. I have experimented with antenna positions and updated the software but the pr...

Re: Permit aircraft to the Channel Islands

As they say, I can't help but I might know a man who can. One of the more prominent members of the Jersey pilot fraternity is David Brown. He flies a Sherwood Ranger, presumably on a Permit. He is also on the steering committee for the Jersey Flying Club resuscitation. Try emailing him on dsbreflex@...

Found the link from Steve's earlier post

Article 4 is clear enough for me. I would fly my G Reg Permit aircraft on my LAPL in France on the back of that

Re: LAA amateur built aircraft flying to France post Brexit

Hi Donald, Compliments on your polyglot legal snooping on our behalf! Regarding your all-important finding of the loophole regarding implied authorisation of LAPL/NPPL in G Reg Permit aircraft, I am struggling to find the bit of text that you quote as article 4. The link you provide takes us to a de...

Re: BRITISH EASA LAPL POST BREXIT

Thanks for that, Steve. I will follow up. Meanwhile, I had a bit of a "bing" moment in the middle of the night. Unless I am mistaken, as things stand, the only way for a LAPL holder to fly unrestricted in EASA airspace (setting aside the equally vexed issue of Permit aircraft access) is to upgrade t...

Re: BRITISH EASA LAPL POST BREXIT

Unfortunately, the link to T.L 2.08 does not seem to work and when I cut and pasted the reference in to the search engine on Aircraft and Technical, nothing came out. I have written a request for information to the Italian CAA, ENAC and will circulate any response. Knowing the Italians, I am not hol...

Re: BRITISH EASA LAPL POST BREXIT

Hi All, I too have been caught up in the LAPL mess, in my case made all the worse by the fact that I am based in Sicily. Has Alan got anything to add on how we can go about applying for permission to fly with our LAPL, particularly in France and Italy? I did not understand the reference to TL2.08
