It could be worth trying some clip on ferite rings (obtainable from Maplin) on the light/strobe feed. It should take out some of the RF pickup

What sort of molex plug are you hoping to make up? In the past I have made up some of the large pinned sort using a normal crimping tool and then assembling the plug subsequently.

If You are putting up an electric fence, which I think is a good idea, dont forget that it must be signed as such and needs to be visible to aircraft and vehicles. Dont forget you owe a duty of care even to trespassers

It would be worth checking the aerial lead and the match between the set and the antenna. Co_ax plugs and terminations are notorious for alowing entry of moisture and the set may not be seeing the 50 ohm impedence it wants to see.
