We are a group thinking about purchasing a Tiger Moth. We have experience of operating Cubs/Jodels and would like any information on Tiger Moth specifics regarding operating and maintaining the aircraft and the Gipsy Major engine.
Any tips?
Thanks,
Peter Curwen

Manhours for recovering a Supercub?
A group of us are planning to recover a Supercub. Could anyone advise how many man hours it would take to strip the fabric, prepare the structure, cover, dope and paint. As the wings need doing now but the fuselage could wait a year or two an estimation of hours for each would also be useful. I will...

Sweden I am based at Linköping (ESSL) in Sweden which is about 80nm south west of Västerås. Two routes in to Sweden would be a) from northern Denmark to the airfields at Falkenberg or Varberg or b) via the Copenhagen area to the southern tip of Sweden. Option b) has the least water crossing and Hög...

We checked all the intake rubbers and intake pipes today and found our problem. We had lost a nut on the inlet pipe to cylinder 4 and the whole inlet pipe was loose and leaking in air. I will order a new inlet gasket, nuts and washers. I suspect that should solve the problem. Thanks Jim and Gavin fo...

C90 Rough Running
The C90 in our Jodel is suffering from rough running / vibration. We replaced two spark plugs and cleaned and gapped all remaining ones. After a successful ground run we flew in the circuit. The take off and climb at max rpm was OK but when throttling back to around 2300 rpm in the cruise the rough ...

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first flight of the Jodel D11, there will be an international Jodel fly in at Hedlanda Airport in the central Swedish mountains from 14th to 20th July 2010. South Swedish Vintage Fly-In, 2-4 July 2010
This year’s international fly-in will celebrate the Piper Cub. It's 80 years since the E-2 flew and 75 years since the J-2 flew for the first time. This friendly and informal event is based at Eslöv’s grass airfield (near Malmo) over the weekend of 2- 4 July 2010. I attended last year’s event and th...

EASA LSA and Pilot Licensing
I need a little help in understanding the proposed new EASA rules for the European Light Sport Aeroplane (E LSA) 600kg category and the EASA Leisure Pilots Licence (LPL). We are considering the purchase of a new two seat aircraft for our not-for-profit, members run flying club. Our options are: - CS...
