Got mine in the post today :) looks brilliant as it has been for ages now.
Given the situation with publishing I was ready for a delay or even a missed issue. Very very well done to the team for keeping continuity & getting the magazine out promptly.

Cheers

Still here... I check this forum at least once a day.

This year has been horrible so far, on the few times the weather has been OK, the Grumman has been booked already :(

I've bought a Luscombe share, but not even managed to start the taildragger rating yet.... soon I hope.

Intending to make as ...

Just got my FAA Medical through today, so hopefully all in place for when progress on the NPPL acceptance comes through.

I think that a lot of great work is being done with the NPPL and personally I am grateful for the efforts - I could not fly solo without whats been done so far :)

Does an FAA medical count as compliant?

I cant pass a JAR medical due to my diabetes, but I can have an FAA one (in process)... so could the FAA medical support the NPPL saving me gettng the FAA PPL

Thanks

Mine has some... but definetly not all! Try a simulated route using Frome VRP... there are other well established ones missing too..

a 495 is a 496 without the road bits... interestingly mine has road & marine modes still, but I dont use them.... a simple Tom Tom works great in the car.

I have a 495, which I guess is similar... have to agree its infuriating that VRPs are not in the database & adding is a pain, however I have had sucess using Memory Map to add waypoints & then plugging in the Garmin & transferring that way. Works well for routes too.

Storing routes (on the 495 at ...

I think I was at a different event (Saturday).....

All the airside stuff, procedures, ATC, Marshalling and so on was fantastic. My first fly in and really, really enjoyed that.

BUT.... the ground side was a huge disappointment, especially the catering arrangements. We spent a whole HOUR queueing ...

Yep... aging... ;) (thats 12 years older than me!)

Some really lovely looking examples available at the moment, hence my interest.... but I agree, they have to be looked after properly.

Its just so frustrating here in the South to observe as a newbie the virtual closed shop when it comes to ...

Thanks all for the advice... patience it is then.. last thing I want to do is to wreck an airframe.

It seems like wood (or more specifically glue) may not be the best choice of material for an aging airframe in any case, or as an absolute minimum a very, very thorough survey by a specialist pre ...

Keeping a Jodel outside?

Hi,
My hunt for hangerage in the South isn't going too well... so I am wondering if I were to buy 'whole aircraft' covers - Ive seen some aircraft parked at Popham covered in this way... would it survive like this?

Thanks for any input

Hoping to fly in either from Blackbushe (AG5-B) or Goodwood (C172), if there is availability on either plane....

I'm still very interested in getting a Jodel, so hopefully will meet some people there... fingers crossed the weather is better than last year.

Hi All, you may have noticed an appeal for volunteers with web/video expertise in the latest magazine. This is because we want to add some LAA promo stuff to the website.

Yes, I saw that. It reads like you need a graphic designer/video editor? Sadly I don't have those skills or I would be glad to ...

Hi Rod,
I will PM you wil comments on that site, its nicely presented.

I agree with you about no website/move on. It is just the way we are, has been for the last 5 - 10 years in my case. If its something I really want to find out about (hobby related) though I will persevere and pick up the phone ...
