Re: 1834VW spark plugs

I really couldn't comment on 10mm dia plugs as never having used them in a VW conversion however, a quick comparison with the Bosch WR8AC came up with the UR6AC as a likely candidate. The heat range of this plug should be OK for the purpose.

Re: 1834VW spark plugs

Hi Jim First of all, a plug with resistance built in will not be a problem with a Leburg system however, if it were running on a mag I would personally steer clear of plugs with built in resistance. The mags have to overcome the resistance and as a consequence will suffer in the long term. On my Lut...

No chance. Sold the farmhouse, hangar and strip last December and settling down to a boring sedentary existence.

In a nutshell, the mind is capable but the body isn't.

PFA Journals 1977-1992 Free to good home

Following a recent house move I have over 80 PFA Magazines and 12 PFA Rally Supplements dating from 1977 to 1992 which I wish dispose of. Rather than take them to the tip I would prefer them go to an LAA member who will make good use of them and hopefully pass them on when he/she has finished with t...

Re: Airfield Planning Permission

An update on the subject of being rated for business rates. They (the Valuation Office Agency) have advised me that they do not intend to take the matter any further and will advise the Non Domestic Rates department of the District Council accordingly. The reason stated was that my hangar is of a si...

Re: Airfield Planning Permission

and when you finally do get your planning permission expect a letter from either the Valuation Office Agency (VOR) or the Local Authorities Non-domestic rate (NDR) team. I escaped a revaluation of my domestic property when the strip and hangar were approved but they are now after me for business rat...

Re: Grey Aviation

First of all Stuart I'm pleased to see you are getting aloft in your Minor but not so pleased to read you are thinking of selling the old girl. I've lost count of the times when flying my Minor and Veep into a gathering of some kind i.e. fly-in, rally, etc and sidled up to a group of people in the h...

I get rid of the clover as soon as it appears (Longbow 100:1 mix) .

Re: Grass

I used a "set aside" mix for my strip 11 years ago and I've had no issues with it whatsoever.

It copes well in drought conditions and recovers quickly after the briefest of rain.

I'd be tempted to give Barry Smith a call.

He I'm sure would be able to tell you if using inserts is a good fix.

Re: Help offered with aircraft recovery

Actually this is an ideal opportunity to remind others of the existence of "Stranded Flyer" http://www.strandedflyer.net/ A network of aircraft owners/pilots prepared to offer assistance in situations such as this. If anyone would like to offer their services then just register, the more the merrier...
