Thanks Adrian, and all...
when I'm able to, hopefully later this week, I'll be back at the hangar and taking a closer look. Will check all suggestions and, hopefully, have something good to report in time..
regards

Nick, thanks for your reply, I received this suggestion from elsewhere too, and yes the oil breather is in similar place, port side of fire wall, probably 6" from gascolator. I have also received suggestions of possible breakdown of rubber shaft seal on the generator or burned oil from a crack in th...

C-85F engine question
Dear all, hoping that someone may be able to shed some light on this .... I flew yesterday for an hour and it was cold, minus 4C on the ground, and when I got back looked in the engine and saw goopy stuff on the outside of my gascolator. It was soft to the touch, maybe solidified because of the cold...

Carb was removed, cleaned and over-hauled subsequent to the fuel flow check. So far, 'crud' in the system seems a ...

Welshman, you got me there ! I blame fatigue and stress...mine As for the mags, they were brand new from Champion. I changed the mags because the old 'original' Eissman were making it impossible to start the thing with the pull handle and I am not wanting to hand prop it. No fuel lines changed, only...

Engine Woes
Dear Friends, Sadly, I have been here before, with tails of engine woes, which I thought were behind me now, but find myself head-scratching and thankful that today I was operating from a reasonably long runway ! Allow me to explain and I would invite any help... After I had obtained my Cessna 120 i...
